Since we do actually go there once in a while, and I couldn't (easily) find the previous thread to dig up, thought I'd shove one up to compensate.

Tonight (19th) is: Life of Brian and Holy Grail.

There are a couple of us going, I believe. Since I'm in the city and all, I've contemplated picking up something like a packet of chips (mmmm salt and vinegar) for the general enjoyment of all during the movies (or rather probably the first movie - since I'm guessing they'll be gone by the time the 2nd gets up on screen).

Anyhow, just wondering if anyone wanted anything specific.

Oh, and Morgs, are you coming into the city before heading to the Globe?

I made a post about this last week, but a power surge took care of it before I could press "Post Reply", and I still had it in my mind until now that the deed was done.

I won't be able to make either Wednesday. My reasons are complicated and not at all interesting. I'll take every chance to balance out my recent absences by being more social next week.

Good. There's a stack of Classic "Doctor Who" DVDs that demand more attention than my eyes alone can give them, the saucy minxes. :p

    Be seeing you,

Bummer! if this had been next week I possibly would have made it, seeing as how I'll be living so close :p Though, I won't have any monies so I probably wouldn't have gone...bummer :(

Oh well, I'll just have to go over to Morgs place and watch them on her screen! :p

And I won't complain to having you over, m'dear - though strangely I don't have Life of Brian on DVD yet. Still hanging on to the VHS. Must fix that... [face_thinking]

These are pretty much the more interesting showings - although it could be noted that on 12 Dec they're showing The Nightmare before Christmas and Santa Claus Conquers the Martians :p

I'm interested in the anime double and the Monty Python double.

Monty Python and the Anime double are my interests from this list as well. And I could not sit though the "Christmas special" unless I was very, very drunk.

Hehe, well there is plenty of grog to be had at the globe (albiet overpriced). No I merely mention it in jest ;) I couldn't sit through Santa Claus Conquers the Martians the first time :p

Today the double is the Beatles special. While I'd love to see this, as I've not seen either of them since I was quite young, 3 nights out this week is going to be too much. Since Beatles is more of a curiosity than anything else, I'll skip tonight.

Next up, for me at any rate, will probably be the Anime night.

This Wednesday (October 10th) at the Globe:

    1990s CULT DOUBLE - Quentin Tarantino's Jackie Brown (1997) (MA15+) followed by The Boondock Saints (1999) (R18+)

    7.00pm (18+ event) / Tickets $13.00 per person.

I love Jackie Brown, and I've heard great things about The Boondock Saints, so I'm going in.

    Be seeing you,

I haven't seen either them, though I'd quite like to.

    However, Orange Box.

    Sorry. :p

Hope you all are prepared for the Anime night, better put on your censor glasses. Cause both films are R rated and for a very good reason. Don't say you weren't warned. :p

    Already warned 'em.

What's great is that both movies are squirm inducing for both genders. Equality all the way!

    Be seeing you,

    Yes, we've been warned. :p

Also, interested as I am in tomorrow's movie double, I don't think I'll be able to make it either because I'm working late, or plan to be passed out on the couch (probably both at varying stages of the evening).

Anime is tonight, but I don't think I will be going as:
    1) I missed heroes last night and want to watch it tonight, and
    2) Am feeling rather anti-social due to work BS

I'll be there, and I'll be bringing a friend; I just hope you freaks don't scare him :p

I'm kidding, you're a fine bunch of ruebens I'd introduce to anyone.

Ah, my favourite "I'll be bringing some friends" episode was watching Kahlan's brain melt observing the resulting insanity of friends brought at the "Last of the Time Lords" viewing. Those were some good times. [face_mischief]
