So, as a group, what would people like to do?

There isn't an all-of-the-above option. Except for possibly picnics. That'd be wierd.

    So... you aren't quitting?

Picnics... you put that in there because you knew the (maybe) two girls who post in here would say 'they're all very typical manosterone events, where's the knitting circle option?' didn't you? :p

Uh, I picked 'other', mainly because maybe just a coffee somewhere central to begin with would be good? Just casual Saturday arvo kinda thing in the city.

It comes for working for an "All Female" organisation, I'm trained to offer all options. :)

Quitting,.......we'll see what sort of a response we get here.

    Quitting what?

Yeah i'd go for all save maybe the picnic though I haven't been to one of those events so I dunno what the deal is exactly. It's always on Melbourne Cup day and I'm always at the Cup getting drunk.. err.. I mean... watching races:p

Vivsta...PG-13 rating on the boards here.

All referrences to Alcohol and the consumption of said items should be referred to as a "milking Session"

    Perhaps a Video night?

Speaking for myself, a video night is just that little bit less inviting for a 'first' meet because it is at someone's house... but that's just me.

Yeah, Video night is a very intimate way to meet up for the first time...
...I feel like I'd have to pash all of you at the end of the night or something :p

Maybe a poker afternoon at a bar or pub or cafe?

    Shave?

Great Scods, Tripodacular comedy cliches aside; I'd go to a picnic.

Mainly just so I could see what Cahill brings. Is he a salad, pasta bake, sandwich or dips sort of guy?

I'm not so sure, I see him as a nibbles guy to be certain, but more the firm stuff. I can forsee Cahill gnawing on a juicy date more than once. So well, yeah, he'd definitely have a dip wouldn't he?

Bowling, movie, video night, video GAME night, 6 movie saga screening on VMAX, AFL (even though it's almost over) and basically anything not directly involving StarWalking, 'cause I don't know them and the people here are more fun.

But... aren't you NSW, Shara? *shrug*

Anyway, the lady has some good ideas. Video game nights would be fun, as would the saga screening (although I've never heard anything about that before, nor what VMAX is...?). But I still think we should do something small for a good re-introduction to VicFF.

needs to be something with a geeky common ground though. If we just meet for drinks it could end with only two people talking and everyone else being glum.

Something like video games involves pretty much everyone, no one feels excluded or left out, and can be a basis of familarity upon which future meets are built, facilitating a more confident interaction amongst everyone. :) [/student politik speak]

I agree, common ground is a must, just so no-one gets left out. But I still object to a games night as a 'first' for the same reasons as the video night outlined above.

I say we go to a park and fight each other with sticks. All the young people nowadays seem to enjoy a bit of war, why not follow their style?

    1) Vienetta.
    2) Bowling/go-karts/dark zone minus whinging 40 year olds etc (i.e. something that is fun, but can be left quickly if it's decided we're all freaks) sounds like the go for an initial activity.
    3) I hate student politics.

Bowling or the like sounds like a good idea for a firsty. Considering we're presumably all of a slightly nerdy disposition and therefore in no position to undertake physical activity (i know I am!) bowling sounds like a fun activity for all involved. Especially those no good at it.

How can you claim that non Star Walking people have more fun - since in your own words you "don't know them" and no one here exists outside of the screen anyway.

As Obi-Wan once said "then you ARE lost!"
