Ringo was the glue that the other 3 were sniffing.

John Lennon had the audacity to imagine a future where everyone is just happy for all eternity. So intellectually stimulating.

I would have preferred he sung about a private equity firm making large profits for its investors.

As someone who voted for John, I have to disagree completely. Until such a time that you show me a drummer with half of the talent that one Mr. Richard Starkey possesses, The answer to your apparently rhetorical question will be a definite yes from me.

When you asked, it was John. Now it's George.

For me, it alternates between George and Paul. I'm leaning towards George, though.

As Beatles I love John, Paul and George equally, but as solo artists George is my new favourite. It used to be John, but George has recently rocketed ahead of him. John has some great tracks but is uneven; George is an almost constant stream of love and reassurance about the world. Makes me happy.

My musical focus has shifted more toward George too the past few years. A recent album like "Early Takes: Volume 1" proves that he possessed a lot of raw, powerful talent. Unfortunately that tended to get buried a bit during production, but the songs nevertheless still come out vibrant, and strong. He probably was the most soulful Beatle. He could be funnier, quirkier than both John and Paul, but also more serious and compelling. He made a lot of sense.

Picking a favorite Beatle is kind of like picking a favorite child.

My answer was John, but for me the thing about the Beatles is that they really just created something magic when the four of them worked together. Nothing that any of them did solo comes close to what they did as the Beatles, IMO.
