The official Lord of the Rings Web site has announced that select theaters will host limited screenings of the extended editions of all three films in their entirety during the month of December.

During the week of Dec. 5-11, audiences will be able to see the full-length version of The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, previously only available on DVD. The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers will follow from Dec. 12-15. The screenings will culminate on Dec. 16 with the theatrical release of The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, which will be shown back to back with the extended versions of the first two installments.

    Servo-
Take a peek at the NJo boards. I know that Mike and a few others are interested in a "marathon" so to speak.

It is playing at a couple in NJ as well, but as this is the NYC forum, I thought I'd stick to that area when posting the info. Who wants to have to endure a long commute after 12 hours in a theater?

Is the 42nd E-Walk the only theatre this will be at?

In the city? Yeah, I think so...not positive though. But I know it's gonna be in New Brunswick and Cherry Hill in Jersey too.

Sadly, I missed out on the all-day marathon as well. But I did manage to grab tickets for screenings of FOTR the week of 12/5 and TTT the week of 12/12. Kind of weird buying movie tickets two months ahead of time. Then again, I bought my tix for John Williams at Lincoln Center 5 months before that show. Nothing like whizbang entertainment to look forward to.......
