Here is a thought. I love Yoda he is short and powerful but he has roots. We all have.

Question: Does anyone originals of this great Jedi Master? What I mean by originals is who was tough Yoda, what planet is he from, Bio.

I think I read that Lucas had imposed a rule on the EU that prevents anything from being created for Yoda's past. I think he just wants his past and species to remain a complete mystery, which I think is pretty cool.

Sure, it'd be nice to know the name of his species, where they come from, and why we haven't seen any others (especially considering how long they can live, if Yoda is any indication), but leaving him a total mystery is really interesting, I think.

As others have said, we just don't know. There is some speculation that Yoda is a Whill, but that is highly unlikely.

Also, we have seen another member of Yoda's species, Jedi Master Yaddle. She was a member of the Council during TPM and was killed between TPM and AOTC.

I don't want to know about Yoda's past, since it is one of the greatest mysteries yet of the GFFA.

I heard that that character (if it's the one I'm thinking about) wasn't a member of Yoda's species, and that's why he wasn't in AOTC, so that it wouldn't create confusion. I think I read that in one of the last INSIDER issues.

It was a she, and she was killed between the movies. It's in the Jedi Quest series.

And how do we know Yoda isn't a human? I mean, have any of you seen a 900 year old human?

No, but Noah and Mathuzila (I know that's not how you spell it) lived to be almost as old as Yoda...

I don't recall there being descriptions of what they looked like, though. I know they did. They could have been short and green. ;)

Edit: There were also a few other people from Biblical times that lived to be that old. :)

I used to believe he was a really old human, and the Force had kept him alive so long. This was before the Prequels, but, the Prequels only sort of further solidify this belief, since all of the other Jedi get killed, we don't know what they could've lived to be. I mean, Obi-Wan is the only Jedi we see that could've kept living, and he gives himself up.

I think Yoda's a really old human. Though I can't explain the greenish hue.

    Good ol' Yaddle.

"The quiet Yaddle was a member of the same mysterious species as the revered Jedi Master Yoda. Yaddle sat on the Jedi Council with her fellow green-skinned diminutive Force-user."

Unfortunately, McCallum's confirmed that we will not find out anything about Yoda's race/homeworld in Episode III.

So it will remain a mystery. :(

It won't be revealed in Episode III and it won't be revealed in the EU at least until all the movies have been released. There was a recent Star Wars Tales story(in Star Wars Tales #16) that featured a 200 something Yoda but that didn't reveal anything about his species or homeworld. Hopefully, Lucas will allow it to be revealed eventually.
