I just got back from my second viewing of Attack of the Clones. I am ready to go back for my 3rd, 4th, 5th... viewings.

First off (my opinion) to the so-called movie critics: ANYONE WHO SAID THIS MOVIE WAS HORRIBLE, YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF!!!

2nd: This movie rocked, rocked, rocked, rocked, rocked, rocked, rocked, rocked, rocked, rocked. THANK YOU GEORGE LUCAS!!!

3rd: This was a very enjoyable experience at the 104 premiere( yes I was lighsaber man ), and at the midnight showing a #15 at Gulf Point 30. It was an enjoyable experience watching it with everyone, THANK YOU!

4th: THANK YOU to Queenie Amidala and her Mother for the ticket to the 104 premiere.

5th: Who wants to see it again, besides me? I am ready right now!!!!

6th: The action in the movie was FANtastic.

    7th: The script was great!!!

Can any of you tell I loved the movie? Sorry to keep going, but it was awesome!!!! I LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!

I give it a 9. Close to a 10, but just falling short.
    Action - AWESOME
    Story - AWESOME
    Battle Scenes - TOTALLY AWESOME
    Yoda - AWESOME x 2
Love Story - Well...It was like "Plop!" We're in love. Hard to see how it developed.

That's the only downside. More of my dollars will be making it's way to Lucasfilm over the next 4 days. Promise you that I will.

By the way I saw Anthony Daniels, Ahmad Best, One of George Lucas' daughters, and his son, but I did not see THX 1138, or any referance to it, did any of you see the referance that Lucas always puts in the movies he directs? I was trying to keep an eye out for it. If any of you see it, please post so we find it also. Thanks.

The movie rocks! The love story though should have been done better... and the fights in the end - they were awesome, but am I the only one to thing they should have been longer?

Personally, I think the fights were about the right time. In some movies they are drawn out and my interest level drops. However in AOTC, they were long enough for that not to happen, yet short enough to make me want more. I'm not much on love stories, but I guess that had to happen and again, it didn't take up too much time.

    <<<<Is one happy camper!

No need in repeating anything already said, yes this movie was awesome, everything, and yes, that means absolutely everything was perfect... you can see the clear transition from the episode one setting slowly over these films towards the setting of ep. four. The technology, the ships, everything... anyways, i just thought I'd say I gave it nine stars. The only reason being I believe the next one will be my fav. I dunno, just got a feeling. Other than that, this movie was perfect. Can't wait for the DVD, what extras could possibly await us to add to this AWESOME film???

I liked it too! 9 out of 10 stars.

I really wish that so much of it hadn't ended up on the cutting room floor though. I'd like to have seen the scenes with Padme's family...and more Dooku stuff.

I just got back from my 4th showing of Attack of the Clones. It is still Awesome!!! I am planning on going back for 2 more showings tonight.

By the way did anyone else see that the Man himself is in the movie. Thanks to Queenie Amidala for pointing it out to me. He is in the senate chamber scene after Jar Jar does that dumb decision. George is sitting in one of the pods. Did anyone find for sure where a mention of THX 1138 or any referance to it. I think I may have found it in the bar scene at the top of the podracing scene. I am not sure yet, so I will be looking as I am going back later. If any of you find it please let me know.

It was great. I loved 3po, r2, bickering also. (this is for my above posting). It also gave me chills when Palpatine spoke and then at the end with Palpatine and his group(and the RED GUARD) looking out over the clone army. Well lets just say. AWSESOME!!!

MAY THE FORCE BE WITH YOU !!!!!

Come on guys ... this movie is not up to scratch.

    1. The Special effects for a start are awful. It looks more like a cartoon than a movie. This is to digital effects what 1950's B-Movies are to film. I am a life long Star Wars fan. It represents something important in my childhood. I went to see it with girlfriend who had never seen a Star Wars movie in the cinema before. The first thing she said afterwards was that it looked so fake.

    2. The dialogue as usual is terrible. It's just as well the actors are superb, because the script was wrote by a 4th grader.

    3. This movie is just a commercial exercise in making money. Did you spot the computer games in the plot ... the multi-story "car" chase, the ridiculous "Abe's Odyssey" style chase throught the factory. Remember the pod racing etc from Episode 1. What the hell can you expect from the script and the plot if the story has to revolve around the merchandising possibilities.

    4. You can tell the movie was made in a cost-cutting rush. Why? It's sure to be one of the biggest grossing movies ever. why not spend some money and make some proper sets, and not this fake looking digital crap.

    5. The movie completely lacked a human feel. All the central characters are human, but I can't remember seeing a single "human" extra. They were all these weird stupidly shaped evolutionary impossibilities. Were the **** do all the humans live?

    6. The special effects were terrible ... I know I mentioned this before ... but I have to again. All I heard in the build-up to this movie is how wonderful theh SFX are, and how they are gonna blow everyone away. Sorry ... the first movies (circa 1977) look more realistic than this nonsense. YOU NEEDED TO SPEND SOME DAMN MONEY GEORGE ... CHEAP-SKATE!!!!! The battle scenes in LOTR and Starship Troopers put Star Wars to shame. That should never happen.

    7. The direction was awful (as usual with Lucas). The way the ridiculous coincidences were handled exsacerbated how ridiculous they were. Especially at then end. When Padme was lying on the sand near the end and a cartoon Clone walked up to her (in the middle of nowhere incidently) and immediately found her a ship on which to get to her loved one, I damn near died laughing (I was crying inside though). Fortunatley the brilliant scene with Yoda was to follow (which helped me forget for a while that I'd spent the previous 15 minutes watching Roger Rabbit in Space).

    8. Lucas is still trying to make a kids movie. Why? 95% of the people in the theatre were my age 25-35. The kids today don't care about Star Wars like I (we) did when I was a kid. It's just another movie to them. It's just another cool computer game. It's not even the best. Lucas should have made a mature movie for a mature audience. Instead we get this sugar-coated fairy tale that can only seem good if you're 12 years old.

    9. Jar Jar Binks was still there, although it's nice to see Lucas has a sense of humour ... making Jar JAr the scapegoat in turning over exectutive power to the president (or whatever he is ... don't want to spoil things for Ep 3). But why would someone as supposedly intellegent as SENATOR Amedala give an idiot like Jar JAr such power amd influence ... it's just the kind of stupidity that only a child could buy.

This is not a wonderful movie. It's nothing more than a glorified documentary that helps us understand the historical context of the original movies (although Return of the Jedi sucked too - because George returned as the directed after not directing Empire). This was the best part for me. This aspect was very good. I loved Yoda (especially at the end). The intrigue was there, but it was never dealt with in any way (such was the stress on action to cover Georges directorial inadequacies).

You are entitled to your opinion...but seem to be in the minority.

I'd like to see how these comments are received in the AOTC forum.
I'm looking at your posts, and it seems that you like NOTHING to do with Star Wars. You don't like the effects, the direction, or the cheesey dialog.

If you go into a Star Wars movie now expecting to be WOWED like you were when you were 6, you are going to be sorely disappointed.

Enjoy the movies for what htey are. Fun popcorn movies that make us forget about the real world for awhile.

I have not completely digested the movie yet, but Ihave not slept either. I really enjoyed it the first time. Can't wait to do it again and again. I have been a fan since opening day in 1977. There are some that are better than others, this is one of the best. I can say I have been waiting over 20 years to see what Yoda was made of and I was blown away. The old man gets teared up just thinking of it, he is the master and left no doubt about that in my mind. Short guys rule!
I am solid in a 9/10 rating for this one. I have no doubt I will change some views after seeing it again, but I do not think my overall opinion will go down at all, it may improve though, who knows. Clouded is the future.

    Regarding 1138:

    Easter Egg: 1138
    Thu, May 16, 02 05:16:19 PM EDT

suavivity sends this in this possible "Easter Egg" in Episode II:
Hey guys, I haven't seen anything posted about this, so I figured I'd send it in. I looked throughout the entire film for a "1138" and I think I saw it once, but it was very hard to see. When Jango is flying in the Slave I, above his right shoulder on the bar that makes up his seat is a little symbol that looks an awful lot like it could be the number 1138. It looks kinda like the number on the back of the droid in Ep 1, not a number, but the reverse outline of it if you can get what I mean. just thought I'd let ya all know and see what you think. thanks.
Jedi Flaco also sends this in:
Regarding 1138, it was spotted on the back of a clone trooper in the final battle, it can be easily missed due to all the chaos going on in that scene. Something to look for in your next viewings of the movie!
    Indeed it is!

First off I would like to say yes you are entitled to your opinion. Second once it is posted, we can debate over it.

I loved the SFX. And on the idea where the clonetrooper came out of no where is ludicrous. Both Pamde and one Clonetrooper were knocked out of the ship. And that is how he comes to check on Padme. And how he got a transport, well that is childs play. Hmm, oh yeah, he is wearing a helmet with a communications system in the suit, so he can call for a transport as they are running back to the area. That is ho they communicate. Also in the 5 showings that I have been too, everyone that I heard enjoyed the dialogue, the effects, and the acting. Anakin was awesome. Padme was awesome. Even the critics say that Ewan and Christopher Lee mastered there parts. Jango was supposed to be gruff. I loved the movie, (which of course this is my opinion and some responses to your posts). Also I am just debating over it. One thing is that we all love Star Wars. This is the first negative response that I have read on this site, and of course not everyone is going to like this movie, but I feel as if I had to say something. I am not trying to start any arguments, just post a reply.

If that is how you feel, that is how you feel. I loved it. All this tells me is that you love the original trilogy. And there is nothing wrong with that.

May the force be with you.

(If any of this was taken the wrong way, please dont take it that way, it is only a post. Have a great day.)

    Hey Cybernut!

You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but make sure you have your facts straight. Lucas didn't direct ROTJ (Which I happen to LOVE), it was Richard Marquand.

I also think this phrase is funny/ironic:

"The dialogue as usual is terrible. It's just as well the actors are superb, because the script was wrote by a 4th grader."

Because a 4th grader would know to say "written by a 4th grader".

OK, now I am just being mean!! [face_devil]

Sorry....though surely you knew you would catch a little grief...

ohhh i loved the movie. i didn't cry when the opening scroll/intro came up this time, but i was giggling. [face_blush] throughout the rest of the movie i'd have bursts of laughter, bouncing up and down in my seat, shaking fists in air, i think i really lost it about 3/4ths into the movie, quarantine can tell you that. I was nonsensible/delirious afterwards. I nearly lost my shoe! I think it was when i saw anakin and padme getting married i kicked out my feet from shock and one of my shoes went flying!! I managed to find it in the dark after a long search though :) All i can say is i'm going to need to see it many more times, and i am psyched about meeting temuera morrison tomorrow!!

I was at the midnight showing at Dunvale the night of the 15th. Aside from the cop on the bike almost getting run down by a car and the cop in the theater telling people to put their lightsabers away, it was an amazingly tame showing. My friends and I were joking that we should have brought a cooler and had a tailgate party after the film b/c it took so long to get out of the parking lot. BTW, did anyone else there see the guy dressed up like OB1 who looked remarkably like Ewan McGregor? We were wondering if he was a professional impersonater b/c the resemblance was amazing.

I loved the movie!!! I thought the dialogue was witty, the action great, and the actors did a good job. I was however, disappointed by the love story. As a big romance fan I really didn't think it was as good as it could have been, and a lot of Anakin's lines were too cheesy (especially the whole "I don't like sand.." thing). All in all the love story was okay, but I feel it could've been better. I was really having trouble figuring out when Padme fell for Anakin -- it all seemed too rushed. GL really needs to get deeper into emotions in Ep. III to make Anakin's fall as heartbreaking as it should be.

I expected to be annoyed by the C-Threepio stuff, but I found myself laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath. Very funny stuff in this one.

    Yoda kicked a**. (Enough said)

Loved Anakin fighting with two lightsabers at the same time!

Some of the digital effects looked fake, but nothing distracted me like it did in TPM.

I was disappointed with some of the things that were in the book but not the movie. The biggest one was after Padme's "don't look at me like that" line. In the book she says "i can see what you're thinking" at which point Anakin jokes about her having jedi skills and Padme shares an interesting look with her handmaiden b/4 going into the "it makes me uncomfortable" line. I thought that was interesting in the book -- alluding to Padme having jedi abilities-- so I was disappointed that it wasn't in the movie.

All in all a great film. My favorite is still Empire, but this one is right up there. Looking forward to seeing it again and again.

I gave it 9, but maybe I should have gone for 8. Everything was perfect, except the dialogue. It was pretty horrible. I cringed many times throughout the film. As an example, take the opening sequence, where the padme and the escort are talking about safely arriving. ?I sure am glad nothing bad happened.? Then, BOOM!, the ship blows. Like no one saw that coming. Everything was spelled out in the film before it happened. And the romance was rushed. ?I just wanted you to know that before we die? ? yeah right.

This sounds harsh, but it is the only gripe I have. Listing the good things would overrun the buffer?.

Did anyone notice a couple of "millineum falcons" parked on Naboo when Anakin and Padme first land? My friend and I saw them on the bottom left corner of the screen. Cooooooooool Huh?? Late......
