    I thought I would start a thread similar to the "Your Lightsaber" one. This thread however, as you can tell from the title, is for non-lightsaber weapons such as force pikes, laser whips, blaster pistols, blaster rifles, molecular stilettos, gaffi sticks, etc. If you can't post pictures you can just describe your weapon. If you can post pictures, let's see 'em!

    I guess I'll start. My non-lightsaber weapon, which I built when I was 15, is a semi-replica of a stormtrooper blaster. In an attempt to save money (I think), I used a piece of an old deck umbrella for the barrel. The pipe was to large in diameter, but I didn't know that at the time. I scaled my handle template to match the size of the pipe, and thus my blaster is oversized. I never got around to adding a trigger guard and trigger, unfortunently. Although it has its major inaccuracies, I didn't intend it to be a complete replica. I still like it; it looks so cool.

    I made a Han Solo type blaster from an Airsoft Mauser (plastic BB gun). I took it apart, filled the gaps and used epoxy & bondo to hide the seams, screw holes, and lettering... painted it and aded soem greeblies from a torn apart ATST toy and some other bits from my garage, and used theend of a funnel for the tip. Threw on some rub-n-buff and I think it came out pretty good:

    I just wish the "wood" grips looked better. I'll have some better pictures up later if I get a new camera for Christmas ;)

    I'm working on an edit of the old Hasbro E-11 but so far all I've found time to do is sand the letters off.

    You bet yer biscuits it does! But as it is, it's very low powered- I can shot my bare foot with it while standing without leaving a welt... the little plastic pellets only go maybe 30 or 40 feet on a level shot. This is one of those spring firing airsofts... and I'd never take it to a gathering in firing condition.

    Over the course of my costuming and prop building, I've had several "personal" blasters I've used. It started with a DH-17 (ANH version) for my Rebel Fleet trooper costume.
    [image=http://images8.fotki.com/v132/photos/4/451189/1589330/DH17a-vi.jpg]
    This is the latest version, all resin, and a nice hefty piece.

    I then went through a half dozen custom DL-44 Solo blaster types, all resin. Basically mixing the elements of the 4 screen used Solo Blasters. The last set of these were a matched LEft and right handed pair of Blasters. For these, I also had a matched pair of Luke ESB holsters made for them.
    [image=http://images8.fotki.com/v132/photos/4/451189/1589423/MyBlasters-vi.jpg]
    [image=http://images9.fotki.com/v171/photos/4/451189/1589423/CIII028-vi.jpg]
    I have since sold both Blasters and both holsters. Mostly to fund my latest personal blaster. One I've loved since I first saw it.

    The Bryar Blaster from the Game Dark Forces. (I picked this game version since it was the first I saw and the one used in the 3 graphic novels. They altered the weapon for Jedi Knight and Jedi outcast slightly, made it bigger and altered a few details.)
    [image=http://images12.fotki.com/v217/photos/4/451189/1589330/Bryarfinal2-vi.jpg]
    [image=http://images12.fotki.com/v214/photos/4/451189/1589330/Bryarfinal3-vi.jpg]
    I custom made this blaster, using a really poor resin cast of the new BSG blaster, a plastic airsoft shotgun pump, and sheet styrene. And one more addition, a airsoft laser sight added to the top, with the activation pad above the left pistol grip. I burried the cable in the resin, so the laster is permenantly attached.

    So there you have it, my blasters :) enjoy

    My scout trooper pistol was made from a resin cast. Unfortunately, I don't know what make or model the pistol is, so if anyone knows I'd be a happy bunny. [face_batting]

    Great blasters Reaper63! I've never seen the "Bryar Blaster" before. It has a nice handgun look to it, unlike, for example, that blaster Padme had in Episode I. And you got a laser sight on there? Cool!

    Here's a pic of it from the Dark Horse Graphic novels. It's what I basically used as a guide when putting it together.
    [image=http://images14.fotki.com/v205/photos/4/451189/2509921/Bryar_3-vi.jpg]

    I did take some liberties when making it, but I didn't want an exact copy of Kyle Katarn's Blaster.

    The EU story behind the blaster is that it's a cut down rifle. Almost like a sawed off shotgun. Only it carries more shots ;) I liked it and it's an extremely rare blaster to see. I only know of 3 other people who've made one.

    Me? Yeah I'm also going to use metal tubing around the wooden handle, paint the ends to make it look a little metallic.

    Does anybody have a good picture of the Stormtroopers stick riding the Dewback?
    Is it just basically a stick or is there something on the end?

    I did a set of blasters for my custom Smuggler outfit. They are repainted water pistols.

    [image=http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b8/JediLoreen/Weapons/28ca0b47.jpg]
    [image=http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b8/JediLoreen/Weapons/9a4da321.jpg]

    The larger one with the flashy
    red grips is the main side arm. I made a modular holster system so that I can change out different holsters (working on one for a repainted DL-44 from Disneyland) and still use the same "drop-down" strap on the belt.

    [image=http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b8/JediLoreen/Weapons/c996d50e.jpg]
    [image=http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b8/JediLoreen/Weapons/beltholster4.jpg]
    [image=http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b8/JediLoreen/Weapons/0a9cbe5a.jpg]

    The smaller one is a "hold out" blaster, meant to be concealed at the back, or under the jacket on the left side.

    [image=http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b8/JediLoreen/Weapons/6db84c5d.jpg]

    I made the piece that holds the belt clip in a certain shape to allow for 4 different carry styles by adjusting the clip position. Two at the back, either horizontal, or at a slight upward angle; and 2 for cross-draw on the left side, either veritical or at a slight inward angle.

    This shouldn't qualify as a blaster, but it would look cool as one.

    [image=http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d165/RaysBat/P1010038.jpg]

    The Enterprise Phase Pistol. Made by Art Ayslum, it's a toy gun I painted with proper automotive spray paint. It lights up and opens!

    [image=http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d165/RaysBat/P1030047.jpg]

    That would be cool as a blaster, but the Assault Phaser which I'm getting soon (big black one) would look even better.

    My favourite for a blaster would have to be the Farscape Pulse Pistol though.

    So I'm conceiving a Jedi Hunter character with a set of rather esoteric weapons. So far I've decided to build a Stokhli Spray Stick (with silly string functionality and low-power stun pad) A pair of Darksticks (which I need some advice on, trying to figure out the grips so I can hold them like they're supposed to be held), a collapsable force pike (based off a cane for the blind) and some thermal detonators made out of tennis and raquet balls, among other things.
    Considering making a lightwhip, depending on how complicated it's likely to be. anyone know how well EL wire works in parallel wiring setups? Like, seven or eight wires all hooked to the same plug?

    Provided you don't exceed the maxium EL wire length rating of the inverter you're using, you can hook up multiple strands of EL wire in parallel, I've done it for a few lightsaber blades. But I won't do it again. In my view, the more strands you hook up, the more likely that one of the fine wires in one of the strands is going to break. I wouldn't suggest probably more than 3 strands, if you want any kind of reasonable length on something like this, using a small inverter.

    I thought of doing this a few of years ago, just using one strand of the largest diameter EL wire made, even though it won't be as bright as the High Brightness wire out there (this idea came before the HB wire came out. The HB wire is also stiffer and less flexible, compaired to the older, dimmer wire). I was just going to make a simple PVC handle that a small inverter and 9V battery would fit inside, with 2 removable end caps (one with a hole for the EL wire to come out of, of course! ;) ) and paint it black and decorate it with some leather.

    Hmm, maybe I should revisit that idea [face_thinking] , after all, I don't know what else I'm going to use that wire I bought for the project!

    If you do try it, make sure you have some type of real good strain relief for the EL wire so you hopefully don't end up breaking any wires in the strands. Put some silicone, or hot glue around your connections to make then stronger, too.

    And post pictures when you are done!

    Well, I've been constructing a double-barrel blaster, that somewhat resembles the new "sawed-off shotgun"\blaster that Cade Skywalker (of the new Dark Horse series) sports.
    The red lines show how I want the barrels to form to the actual gun.

    [image=http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v434/TheCosmicCastaway/blasterstage1.jpg]

    The entire thing is made from a Nerf gun and two pieces of PVC piping. Now, here's my problem; right now, it's held together with tape and rubber bands. What is the best thing to use to permanently attach the pipes and the gun together?
