You don't know who John McCain or Rudy Giuliani is? I am less surprised about McCain, but Guiliani?! The Mayor of New York from 94-2001 (IIRC)? Seriously? He was all over the news in the months following 9/11.

Wow. Rarely do I say this, but you need to watch more television. :p

I voted Giuliani. I like his ideas, how he expresses them, and I suspect I am very close to his political alignment.

    Plus, he's Italian.

Hard to choose between Rudy Julianni (sp?) and John McCain, but I chose the former.

How is that toolbag Pataki even on the list? Sure, he'd like to run for president, but he wouldn't even win his own state.

Mitt Romney. When all the mud you can sling about the guy is that some guys from Guatemala worked for him at one point, you know you've got a man with the moral integrity to lead this country.

What influence will the fact that he is a Mormon have on the US voting public? I mean, there has only been one non-WASP President, and that was the Catholic JFK.

JFK had to deal with a lot of negative attitudes to overcome in regards to his Catholic heritage, and even though he was well liked he still barely won his Presidential bid.

I would have to admit to having some doubts about that as well to be honest, mainly because of how the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has basically hijacked the Boy Scouts of America and pressured it into becoming an inclusive group that discriminates against atheist, agnostic, or homosexuals (this policy was not around in the 80's or before when I was active in the BSA, but was only started when the LDS became a prominent supporter of the BSA).

I would like to add that my issue isn't about him being Mormon, but rather how his faith (and I presume how he) deals with other groups and what direction he would take the country based upon those beliefs. This alone would most likely take Mitt out of the running IMHO.

I would be more likely to vote for John McCain that anyone else on that list. Rudy would be a good nominee as well though.

I'm going with Giuliani, but I'm not going to count out McCain.

I don't feel terribly confident in Giuliani's lack of foreign policy experience. McCain seems to know his stuff, though. I'm a liberal, but I would vote for McCain over any of the Democratic front-runners, because he's really one of the few politicians who seems to have any idea about what to in Iraq.

And after eight years of Bush, I'm willing to disregard economic stance so long as our next President can balance a budget.

At first I thought I read Lenin.

When you refer to "Liberals left and right", I assume you mean mainly the leftist ones? ;)

It would have been nice in hindsight to have seen Ron Paul in this poll. I hope he has a strong showing in the Primaries.

Is he however a homosexual sympathizer, thus opposite to the fundamental core Republican base?

I'd actually prefer Fred Thompson but since he's not running, I'll go with Mitt Romney.
