Art work done with Poser 6, Bryce 5.5, Corel Painter IX and Microsoft Digital Image Pro 10. Poser 6 allows me to create 3D people. Bryce 5.5 allows me to make 3D landscapes. These programs free me from using photographs. I am actually creating people and landscapes digitally! They are cool programs.

I am sorry to say I am not familiar with PS, HanSolo29. I really am computer illiterate. I just saw the Digital Image Pro10 program at Staples on sale and bought it on impulse because I wanted to edit and splice together photos of my kids.

There was a book that went along with the program, but I hate reading instructions, so I am basically teaching myself through trial and error.

Yesterday I discovered the CLONE BRUSH. Now I can get rid of things from photos. That is so cool.

I know, all you computer experts are probably laughing, but this is all new to me. LOL.

This one I made up as a joke for a Sweaty Luke Writer's challenge. The story I read had Luke on a pull up bar, so that is why I added it. Of course I didn't have a photo of Luke bare chested so I spliced Luke's head on top of Mark Walhberg's body.

I like your sense of composition, AG88--not too busy, and good "movement" thru the pieces. I think my favorites are the one of Luke and Anakin, and the fan fiction cover with Luke and Mara (I like that they're on Yavin IV there). Nice work!

Again, AG88--good compositions here, particularly in the Anakin/Padme piece. I like the images for the Obi Wan/Evil Anakin, but maybe if you put the duel between them, it might have a bit more "flow" to it--with the bright colors and values of the duel, it seems to "drag" my eye over to the right, without actually lingering with the other images. I'm a total idiot at PS and photo-manip, but if there's a way to "smooth" the transitions between your images, it might help with the visual movement through each piece. Your sense of what images to use is great tho, and your composition is good--I like the "uncluttered" posters/wallpapers, and your work is definitely that!

I have been working on some backgrounds that I can use in the future as cover art by just adding people in the foreground and throwing on a title. Anyway, I was trying to make a Massassi temple on Yavin IV. I basically stuck together a pyramid and a couple Asian temples for the building. I added the courtyard, jungle and the gas giant Yavin. The courtyard didn't turn out exactly like I hoped.

Hey, I didn't even realize you had a thread here, AG88. Glad you bumped it.

Your choice of photos for this is solid; I very much like the design of that temple, and it seems to be very similar to the stuff we've already seen on Yavin. It even has the floor-level open entries...

The perspective on the courtyard looks fine, and even if you don't particularly like it, I imagine it will really fall into the background when you add foreground figures.

This may be just me, but it took me a few moments to realize what that light orangish object in the top right hand corner was. I'm assuming that's Yavin, but when I first saw it, it kind of looked like a photograph where someone's thumb was accidentally over part of the lens. You might need to expand your frame a little to show more of the planet to make it obvious exactly what it is.

 

Thanks for the feedback Wick. Yeah that is supposed to be the gas giant Yavin in the upper corner. You are right, it does look like a thumb.

I think I will raise up the top of the photo so you can see more of the sky and the planet.

Wow, that's a lot of different images to put together and have look cohesive in a manipulation! Well done! I think the courtyard looks fine, but since there's a strong directional light on the temple, you might want to darken and sharpen up the edges of the shadows cast--that might tighten it up a bit. And yes--give us a bit more of the gas giant and the sky there (it's always impressive to see a Jupiter-looking planet hanging in the sky!)! This'll look great as part of a cover--nice work!

I then decided to add Mara Jade to the picture. I used the head of Angie Everhart for Mara, and the body of Kate Beckinsale from the movie Underworld. I replaced Kate's 45 pistol with a blaster. I think Angie Everhart makes the best Mara Jade. She has redhair and light skinned like Mara. She is also very beautiful. I have used her as the model for a few other Fanfic cover art, but I don't think those photos are PG enough for this forum.

Here is some cheesy cover art for a little Romance fic I read on another site. I wanted to make it look like a cover of a romance novel. The only thing I dislike about it is Mara's skin tone. No matter how I tweeked it I could not get it to look like Luke's skin shade. Oh well.

Its true her color is a tad off- But yea its got cheesy romance novel written all over it. lol great job. A good artist can always protray what they want among other things. And seeing maul attack jar jar would be great. but i notice some of your filters look watery- so mayb if you took jar jar's cruiser, and then place that filter on it, it might look cool. I'll be back for more.

Fantastic job swapping out her gun for a blaster. It looks like that's what she was holding originally. And the woman you chose really does look like Mara from the images you showed me. Nice find!

And there's that cheeky Luke face again. I don't know why I find it so entertaining.

It usually means I have to paste her head on top of somebody elses body. Like in the last photo, I used the body of a leather clothing catalog model.
