If the managers are going to give this any more consideration, they are opening up precedent for members to scream for their supposed "rights" whenever they feel an admin has wronged them.

 

The admin in question wronged not only a few members but he brought into disrepute the position of authority around here.

Skyler, if you don't want to be involved, leave the thread. We're all waiting for answers to very valid concerns. We want what's best for this place. You want it forgotten and left behind.

 

Some members want an instant decision. They may not realize that much discussion must be done with all the powers that be, which is by PM and email. They do not have the convenience of video teleconferencing so all of them can be talking together at the same time. This takes time.

 

I would think that Scott could hand down a single final ruling without any other input, since he's the co-owner.

 

They're looking for the right answer, not the quick one.

 

Everyone, please. Let's let this thing go its course.

I promise you, we are all *actively* discussing *every* option here. Both sides are being equally represented.

Let's all realize that nothing is final yet, but that an answer is coming; I promise that.

We realize that something has to be said.

I can take a joke. But as stated in the first post in this thread. It was a bad joke, not very smart, and not very funny. Not to mention, easy to spot.

Hey, I have no problems waiting for the admins descicion. I was just under the impression that nothing is being done.

Now that I have been told I was worng...I will give my pro-active socks a rest, and wait patiently to learn what's next.




Edit- Well, it's rather hard to give my pro-active socks a rest since poor old Connemara is still banned- I thought it was a 24 hours ban? Has her sentence now been lengthened to life? Man, and I always liked that name!

What I have been wondering for some time (and what I have not yet seen directly addressed, although it runs as a constant undertone through several posts) is whether the same reaction would have occurred had Hama-Ryu Kinnebi been better known to the JC (as opposed to the FF) membership?

Many, many of the points made seem to circle solely around unfamiliarity with Hama. Granted, poor judgement was used and there was certainly abuse of trust (especially in the Chewbacca context): but would the same degree of objection, both in public and in moderator circles, exist were a different moderator to have pulled the same stunt? perhaps one who did not see the need for apology?


The usual criticism in these "soap operas" is that of preferential treatment. Here, I think we should be perhaps be more wary of its opposite.

I can't believe I'm stil contributing to this but I just had to chime in and say that it would be just as big of a deal if it had been a well known admin.
