I think it's a bit racist to just assume a character is Caucasian unless the story says otherwise. It doesn't really matter what a human EU character's skin color is, and most times it's left up to your imagination.

Aldaric_Brandl- That wasn't the reference I was thinking of. That isn't exactly vague. I still haven't found or remembered it yet, but I am working on it.

I don't recall Belinda as being black.

Although...getting off the topic...that is an interesting point......With the exception of Lando...no one of a non-cacasion ethnicity is shown...and Lando's is (correct me if i'm wrong) never mentioned......were someone to pick of the BFC or any other book with Lando in it they would have no reason to belive him any different visualy than anyone else......All in all...SW has a very homogenious group of people......perhaps this should be rectified...i'm not saying that suddenly authors should start introducing characters just to add diversity...but...it does seem that something could be done for it...

Read more novels or look at any RPG book...There's more black characters than in the movies themselves. The WEG books in particular, had all types of racial ethnicitys for various characters - some even based on just one world.

You know what's interesting? WEG showed a lot of Asian-looking people as being from Ord Mantell. I don't recall any other source that went into that detail some more.

I see nothing wrong with a fictional universe having all members of the same species be the same color. Think about it for a minute, why should any of our earth ethinicities automatically be assumed to exist in star wars?

Perhaps I'm thinking of someone else. It was either her or the Administrator of Centerpoint Station. Can't recall her name.

The Emperor's Pawn's story in Gamer 5 says that Jeng Droga was in love with his master and harbored a sincere love of the emperor akin of a Vornskrkr to its master.

So the Emperor Palpatine had all kinds of people working for him indeed.

Well, that was nothing to do with homosexuality but a complete mindless loyalty, to protect his emperor at all costs.

Well, you want gays in star wars. There has been at least one gay star wars Author, does that count?

He even played the model for a Gallandro in star wars galaxy magazine......

Andy Mangel, Ambigiously gay author(Recently helped write a gay character into some star trek book, as well said in an interview he would like to "Meat" Sean Connery, and mentioned he wanted to put and show practicing gays in some of his star wars works, but LFL wouldn't let him.)

Too much information for me...... :p. I respect gays as the human beings they are, but I don't want to hear about there sex lives, :p.

I really have no problem with gays in the GFFA at all. I know some might deem it controversial, but let's flash back to the making of ESB. Would we think highly of George Lucas if he'd decided having Lando free Leia and Chewie would be "controversial" to white supremacists in the audience who would never accept a black person as one of the good guys. That, at the very best, would be called pandering. Likewise it is pandering to homophobes for the only possible homosexuals in Star Wars to be hidden under a veil of plausible deniability. Some may see homosexuality as immoral. I think they're wrong, but in any case the people in the GFFA aren't always moral characters, not even the heroes. Should Stackpole's books be rewritten for Corran and Mirax to "wait til they're married" because otherwise some may view them as big-time sinners?

But there should be some rules.
    1) Nothing inflammatory. No Darth Perv who likes corrupting little boys and giving them AIDS. Nothing close to that has been done with any heterosexual villain (and it never should for either IMO).

    2) The character's sexuality should only be a small part of who the character is (except for Leonia Tavira, and she should remain unique). Yeah a character is heterosexual/bisexual/homosexual, but also male/female, a member of any number of species, has taken this side in a conflict, is skilled at this, has this type of personality, etc. A perfect example of a well-written (potentially) gay character is Moff Sarn Shild, who is really a lot like admiral Greelanx except for sexuality because it is only a small part of who Sarn Shild, the person, is.

    3) No details of sexual encounters between any two characters regardless of gender. I don't care if it was Han and Leia or Han and Chewie, I don't want to hear what happened on the rug last night (unfortunate little snippet from Planet of Twilight).

Oh, and to add to the too much info up above, andy mangels talked about how he was a gay porn movie star in that same interview, I was unlucky enough to read, that I mentioned above info from.

I DON'T WANT TO KNOW GAY'S SEX LIVES, THANK YOU. (Just as much as I'm not interested in Hetero couples sex lives)

    Uh, hmmm.....

Anycase here's pics of Andy Mangels, and of his role as Gallandro: For anyone that cares.

I gotta agree. There's nothing wrong with being gay...but man, keep it private if it concerns certain adult films etc. etc. It just adds some unpleasant colors to the way I'd view someone...

I see nothing wrong with a fictional universe having all members of the same species be the same color. Think about it for a minute, why should any of our earth ethinicities automatically be assumed to exist in star wars?

You don't need a Hitler point of view to understand that the possibilities are endless for all types of racial variations on millions of worlds. Don't limit your view of the SW universe based on what you don't see. And all you need to do is look at the films and various EU, and see that not all humans are white. Likewise, if a race of humans came from a hot world, then their skin would naturally be dark.

Hey, some of my best guy friends have been gay or bi. I was just trying to add a little humor where I could. I try not to bash or dislike anyone unless they prove untrustworthy or amazingly stupid.

You did, RJ, you did. But in the light of some recent events among the people I'm forced to co-exist with, I had to say that. A friend of two of my friends, that I personally don't know, turned out to be a gay. So now Mikko's disgusted, and Katja is 'huh'. Katja happened to DATE Jesse in the past, and Mikko was his best friend... I brought up the subject in a conversation, and Mikko admitted it openly.

    *sigh*

Am I a hypocrite if I like olives on my pizza but hate mushrooms? ;)

If you think Ringo is the only guy who likes to see some women together...you need to meet more guys. Pretty much all of us like that. And a lot don't particuarly like seeing gay guys mingle. There's nothing wrong with that. It's just nature, genetics, upbringing and who you know. But also...I think that's going too far to say that some guys think "gays should be shot on sight". That's a very narrow point of view, only applacible to those that openly bash gays and commit hate crimes. I certainly wouldn't want to be lumped in with that set of low-lifes.

"She wasn't using any. I do believe that she was talking about real life situations"

I was joking... Notice the redundant 'a's and 's's, the multiple :_| , and the :D a the end...

And for the lesbian matter, I, like most guys, I think, find it rather 'entertaining'. Whereas the male equivalent does not interest me at all. But I respect gays and I'd never persecute them...

EDIT : "Plus, olives are better on pizza than mushrooms." I don't think so ! ;) :D

Ah....I see.....humor. I didn't know the code that you were using. I will try harder in the future.

P.S. I work at a pizza place, and i've seen what those mushrooms can do to people when noone is there to hear you scream!
