    Attention all gun nuts... er... firearm aficianados.

    There will be a bang bang this coming sunday at the Rio Salado Sportsmen's Club, off of Ellsworth Road/Usury Pass.

    Starting gun (heh heh) at 0900.

    Bring yourselves. Bring your firearms. Bring $6 to get in.

    I'll have a case of clays and a cupla hundred rounds.

    I'll be there at least until 1130.

    There are three stations to throw clays, I'll also bring out my .22

    I've got confirmation so far from Mobius, Balisong and VoidDancer.

    Anyone else want to come out to play?

    Please PM me, or simply show up on Sunday Morning.

    Hope to see some folks there!

    Damn.

    Balisong and Mobius joined one of the choadlings and myself at Rio Salado this morning.

    There was a guy out there with a Smith/Wesson .50

    We were 6 lanes over from him, in an outdoor range. He pulled the trigger, and I felt the concussion wave.

    I was standing there whilst trying to shoot some trap, and I was just... in awe...

    Later, I made a foolish mistake.

    I fired the damn thing.

    It's much worse in person.

    I fired three rounds, and felt like I had been slapped in the face three times.

    Damn.

    The 12 guage may throw a larger slug, but the sheer concussion of that damn thing... all I could think of was The Samaritan

    I now understand more clearly the idea behind marketing that thing as "a last ditch defense weapon against large, aggressive game". Read that as kodiak bears and african lions.

    Dude... I can barely hold onto a .45. My midget hands make handguns a bad idea. I can handle the .22 and my .380*, but my accuracy sucks eggs. I'll stick to rifle and shotgun, thank you very much.


    *Home defense only. Too hard to keep the Winchester in the nightstand drawer.
