FF:QLD BBQ IV: Night Of The Living Geeks Saturday 8th March

I just though I'd give everyone plenty of notice for the tri-weekly bbq this time.

It's going to be at the Roma Street Parklnad again but this time for something differen't it will be a night time bbq!

Time: 4:00pm
BYO Everything.

 

How abouts we nominate people to bring a certain something that way we don't end up with copious amounts of one thing and very little of another. You know one person brings the drinks, another the meat, another the salads and so forth and so on. What do you think?

 

That could be a bit hard to organise with over 10 people.

 

I'll bring a packet of chips.



(And I'll give you a discount too, only 20c per chip!)

 

Hey it was a thought as everybody seems to bring more than they themselves are able to eat. There are some exceptions of course

Perhaps we could work out what everyone would like to eat and drink and then a few of us could bring them and charge the others accordingly. (at no profit so that leaves Nyder out)

depends what everyone wants, if it's sausages not much, if it's steak a bit more.

 

Well that would be difficult to find out what everyone's preferences are so I say just bring what you want to eat and if you don't bring anything then starve for all we care. Because only if you bring something, then you can share with everyone else.

 

Why not just ask everyone what they would eat?

It doesn't sound too difficult to me.

 

Well I find that at most BBQs I have been to it is customary to bring food/drinks with you not pay for the meal why not just go to a restaurant, any way it can become complicated that way (you would have to show the receipts of all the food, etc, etc)

 

Receipts? We could all just trust each other and don't you buy the food you bring to a bbq anyway?

We're not out to make a profit here Nyder.

 

Or youcould just bring your own self-contained meal like a red rooster thing or something.

not that I would ever do anything like that.

 

I'll actually probably bring my own thing (dietting), but if anyone else would like fruit or salad or something, I could bring extra.

 

Though I agree with Grieyls on the subject of 'organisation', it just wouldn't work with us.

Everyone turns up at completely different times and even those 'confirmed' people sometimes decide not to show.

Well as I said it was just a thought, and these idea's should be revealed openly otherwise a potential good idea would never see the light of day.
