Social Celebration 5 - RPF meet-up

I'd like to start planning for this. Is anyone going?

I'll be down in Orlando that week, but probably not at the Convention all the days. So to figure out my plans I figured I'd start this thread.

 

When is it again?

I may be going. Money is an issue at the moment. I REALLY want to go, however. (I know, I should probably be making up my mind).

 

Damn, that's a horrible time for me. If only I didn't have to go to my brother's wedding in July... Elu and I will just have to accept the fact that we'll never be able to go again. *sigh* Take pictures for those of you who are going.

 

Incidentally, there's a JC party now! I'm very jealous... I wish I could go.

 

If I could afford it I would definitely be attending C5. My one chance to attend a Celebration and I have no money. I live 45 min away from Orlando

 

I would go if there wasn't a little thing called the atlantic ocean between me and CV

Flights alone are just way too expensive

If I could manage a ride down I would.

Good point. You're going to the Endor thing right? I could just meet up with you guys there perhaps. But we could put a meetup at the table for sometime as well. I'm still waiting to see what panels are going to be up for the EU.

Well Sey already posted the RPFer pic in Hooper, so I'll be posting some pics of my own that I took! To start it off, we'll go with one of the most memorable aspects of such conventions..........cosplaying!

I shall start with these three! The first two pictures I took were with two RPFers in mind: Sinre and Kev. Knowing about their obsession and their tendency to play as these characters, I immediately took shots of this Lumiya and Shadow Guard specifically for them. You're welcome After my initial failed attempts to find a Shadow Guard, I actually took a picture of a Shadow Guard action figure and sought to post that picture instead for Kev so you lucked out there

The third picture is actually an official cosplayer of Dark Horse. For who she's dressed as, it would be Kerra Holt, the main character for Dark Horse's new comic and novel titled Knight Errant. I went to the Dark Horse panel and, I gotta say, I'm really excited for this series. For those who don't know, Knight Errant takes place about...a generation before Darth Bane and even the likes of Kaan. The galaxy's a mess pretty much, communications across the galaxy are shattered, and you have Sith warlords fighting amongst each other in the Outer Rims with their own small bits of territory. Two of these Sith that hope to strangle one another are brothers, Lord Odion and Daiman.

Kerra Holt is part of the group of Jedi who do not wish to remain within Republic territories specifically to defend against Sith influence, but to actually go out there behind enemy lines and dismantle them. After a failed mission, however, Holt finds herself alone, behind enemy lines, and doing her best to not only survive but to keep to her own Jedi ways. It sounds like a really interesting series and for those who haven't look up anything about it yet, you really should

Here's a good batch! Republic Commandos, Chewbacca, a Fett who's armor is made of Legos, Cad Bane, Bossk with a Wookiee head, lot of really good and interesting costumes that these people have managed to cobble together in time for C5

Yes! More! Not sure what went on here but I'm pretty sure the legendary 501st fan group is what you be seeing her. From stormtroopers to scout troopers to TIE Pilots and officers, there was this humongous gathering of Imperial personnel! Really wish I had a better camera to zoom in with and such but, ah well, you'll have to live with this

 

Yes! My idea to make a Shadow Guard costume is still original!

Also, I must have that action figure.
