Have you tried a cool off or thought about counselling?
I know it's not always the right choice, but it's something to think about.

It's an ideology about the rules of dating and relationships issue. Counciling won't help. She's had five days to think it over and she's gone from hurt and confused to just plain angry I think. She hasn't given me a chance to make a case but she's been telling me what she thinks via short calls and visits.

 

Why do relationships have to suck so bad?

 

They don't all suck so bad. Anyways I'm gonna ambush her first thing in the morning with an ultimatum of sorts that she come to the party I've been planning with her for a month and have a good time with me even if it's just for one night or I'm gonna believe we're through and she should make other plans for NYE last minute as she won't be welcome at my party. My night must be a positive one. I'll either be moving forward or trying again. I will not be in limbo when the guests arrive. Doesn't that sound fair? She's had almost a week to go through her negative emotions and feelings towards me. Is that enough?

I think that's fair enough. As you say, you intend to have a good night. And I can't blame you for wanting to welcome in the new year with a good night. You shouldn't have to put up with her dragging your mood down when you intend to stay positive. I really hope it works out for the best Frank.
