    Hey guys!

    So a few things:

Our table is on the waiting List. Sadness. Keep your fingers crossed that we can somehow get squished in.

Second: Anyone know when room reservations go up?

    Uh-oh. I haven't sent Sunrider's table request in yet. [face_worried]

Nevermind. This is for space on the Exhibitor floor and I'm not surprised you're on Standby. They won't start messing with the Mezzanine until June. The main point is that the application is in. Did you request being near the window again? :D

Yes, I requested the window spot.

Well that's weird, cuz last year I never got an email saying "you're on the waiting list"

Greetings from a former member who now resides in Detroit. [face_plain]

At least for the next month or so until I move to Vegas. :D

So yeah, I'm planning on going to the '08 con after a one year absence.

Hope to see y'all there! :)

Now wondering if I can make myself a Stardust dress before then ;)
We're on a waiting list? :( For the floor or the mezz?

Are you talking about the spot where the 501st was last year or the same spot FF was last year.... I requested our corner spot from last year in September when I talked to Rod from CC.

And be prepared we have upped our fire power for Nerf Wars... You Rebels You....

Cant wait for CC again it was such a blast last year...

    Sam

Hah! Your Nerf guns are no match for firepower of our magnitude! We have seriously upgraded our weapons technology. [face_devil]

I think Rachel was asking for the same spot as last year. I also requested being next to the 501st table when I sent Sunrider's application in.

One big, happy, Nerf-shooting family. :D

I went ahead and got my WonderCon postcard yesterday. It listed that Comic Con Hotel Housing Desk will be open on Feb 6th ( I am guessing around 9am).

There is also a small note on the bottom: We have not been alloted enough rooms by the hotels to meet the demand for rooms. Rooms do fill up within the first few hours so you may want to book a room directly with the hotel of your choice now.

Yes, mine said the same -- we're calling it the advance written warning that the Titanic does not have enough lifeboats... They suggest making alternate reservations now, which we already did on checkout last year...

I'm really not surprised by this -- San Diego in the summer is a seller's market as far as hotel rooms go. I'm amazed that they give SDCC any group rates at all when it's obvious they don't have to. But I can't wait for that new Hilton to open up that will flank Hall H -- I'm a HiltonHHonors Diamond VIP, just waiting for our advance reservation privileges to come in...

If you guys are interested in "SDCC Lite" also known as WonderCon in SF 2/22-24, Virgin America is having a terrific fare sale from today through the 8th -- $39 each way, SD to SF. Takes me back to the 70's, those fares... Plenty of seats so far for up Thu/back Sun. $44 each way from LAX. "Big puffy I-Pod plane" and no Southwest cattle-call boarding...

Keep in mind that those prices are usually for the early morning/late evening flights now. I am flying up there with my wife and it was about 150 each round trip.

If any of you are coming for "SDCC-Lite", on Thursday night before the con, a bunch of us are going to a club nearby for "80's Night". :) There'll be other fun stuff around, like bowling, ice skating, two movie theaters, cable cars, restaurants, an arcade, the wharf, a huge shopping center, and more - all within walking distance, unlike LA and CIV (hint hint ;))

I will have to take you up on that as I have only been up there once. I honestly think my wife would enjoy that.

The official Comic-Con website has added the following section:
    ?Staying In San Diego?
A Resource Blog for Comic-Con Attendees?

We know how difficult and frustrating it can be to find a hotel room in San Diego for Comic-Con. To help with some of your questions and concerns, we?ve set up a blog that we will be monitoring regularly to help provide you with information and answers about staying in San Diego.

    Other notes:
The Padres will be on the road during the Con.
    Four-day memberships are available now.
Single day memberships will be available on the website closer to the event.
Comic-Con 2009 will be held July 23-26. (Now we're ahead of SFFF in discussing Comic-Con 2009!:p)

Well as of yesterday anyway, when I checked the site for the full day on both dates, that fare was available on all flights. The trick is, as seats are sold, the price for the seats left goes up. Again, this is only through 2/8.
