Jedi / Light Side Comlinks and other Jedi gear

Does anyone here know how to make the Jedi comlink Qui-GOn uses in The Phatom Menace? What about any other Jedi gear? Like the underwater breather or a pair of electrobinoculars?

 

Qui-Gon's comlink is pretty cool because its made from a ladies razor. Although I believe this style of razor is discontinued.

A few years ago my husband helped me build one - painted up the razor and added greeblies -

What I used for the electrobinoculars was one of those ancient handheld video games (i remember there were tank and submarine versions) where the screen was built into the viewfinder of this sort of oversized futuristic looking binocular shaped casing. I can't really describe it, and I can't find pictures of them, but they were pretty common about a dozen years ago. I found mine at a thrift store. Painted it black, added some kind of lens extension to the front, a belt clip and some other random doo-dahs.

 

The link was ok but it didn't have any instructions really. I like the one Zar-Rel posted. What did you use for the food capsules? Very nice. I'm just tucking a pair of mini-binocs into a pouch on my utility belt, not exactly SW replica, but they do work.

 

My food capsules are made from Staedtler pen caps and Plastruct hemispheres, which (or so I've read) is how the film ones were made. My husband made them up for me
