    Greeting everyone.
I'm just starting to develop a website that will chonicle the adventures of my character, Corbin Das. It will be in a digital 3D format and will have a 3D model of me. There will also be a rather sarcastic combat droid (think HK47 from KOTOR) that has been programmed to be my lightsaber sparing partner. He carries a training saber hidden away on his person and loves to use it to stun people. He's rather psychotic, in a comical way, but it deadly when the need arises, which to his way of thinking is about every 20 minutes.
Anyway, the site is more in the planning stages at this point. I own the domain and it's already being hosted, though there's not much there at this point. I'm mainly just trying to see if anyone wishes to offer any suggestions or ideas on how best to develop a character via an online comic style format.

    Here's the general plan.....

I already work with The Custom Saber Shop as a Conceptual Designer and Public Relations Coordinator, but I'm hoping to bring a new aspect of lightsaber props to TCSS.....Ancient Sabers. Ones that look like they were discovered in an old Sith tomb somewhere. Maybe one like this, only more weathered:

    [image=http://server3.uploadit.org/files/corbinspics2-angles.jpg]

What I would like to do is make an ancient saber, and while it's being made, I'll have "virtual Corbin" searching for the lost ruins or tombs or wherever the saber is supposed to be. As the saber's construction progresses, Corbin will track down the site, start his exploration of the site and maybe encounter resistance just like Indiana Jones or Lara Croft might. Once the saber is finished, He'll eventually discover the artifact and I'll post pictures of it on the website.

    Thats when the fun begins...

During the construction process, The Custom Saber Shop will have been making "as first built" versions of the saber. We'll play it off as if they are "reverse engineering" a new saber based on the original relic once it was found. The repoductions will then be sold through TCSS in limited runs.

That's the plan so far. I'm open to suggestions as it's very early in the development of this. I'm thinking I might offer non-saber relics as well (hoocrons, blasters, etc), but we'll see.

Right now I'm trying to come up with a name for Corbin's ship. He'll have a decent sized ship that he uses as a sort of portable base station while he's working an excavation site. It's not going to be as large as a Star Destroyer or anything like that, but it might be large enough for smaller personal crafts to dock onto.
I was considering naming it after a character my girlfriend used to have, the Lady Chayd. But I'm open to other names too.

The website is www.CorbinDas.com but there's nothing much there yet.

Here's a digital model of T6 in a corridor of the ship:

well thereis absolutely nothing up on your site, but if you want to see how other star wars fan comic sites have done it, check out my site at http://www.fandomcomics.com or check out my distinguished competition at http://www.trashcompactorchronicles.co.uk We are probably the only two current star wars fan comic sites currently running. There are a few others, but they dont update anymore.

The front page is well done. I hope you decide to construct the rest of the site soon. :)

Thanks for the link NarCranor. I'm not sure if I'll have mine set up exactly like that, but it's cool to see. I'd really like it if I could figure out how to have a story written out with a picture above it that would change, depending on where you scrolled down into the story. Right now the pictures are just embedded in the text.

Sara, I'm working on getting the 3D character models built up. I'm trying to decide how much I want 3D digital and how much I want actual photos that might have some digital enhancement, like this one of me:

    Here's another pic I made up of T6. It's a GIF:

EDIT: If anyone knows of a good source for a picture of a datapad like device, I'm wanting to incorporate one into a menu interface on the site. I'll probably just end up making my own, but I'd appreciate any info. Even if you know of a good source for just the textures of the maaterial (metal "grain" and what-not), that would be great too.

You can find all sorts of textures on sites like this one, and they're sure to have metal images and such that you could use. Hope it helps and good luck with the project!
