No telling what it will be like, but I'm willing to give it ye chance.

 

The director is not bad, he is the one who directed The Incredible Hulk.

 

I know, I know. The director, along with the casting, are good signs this might be decent after all. But I'm not holding my breath.

 

I am holding my breath underwater with Posidon about this movie.

 

Watch out for the Kraken!

 

I don't like the look of the armour. Trivial complaint I know, but I'm still waiting for a Greek mythology movie that has armour as cool-looking as Agamemnon's in The Time Bandits.

 

1. The movie you speak of is called Time Bandits, no "The".

2. What armor do you not like?

 

I just got word that this going to be epic series sequels after the first movie. I heard it from Half-price books. I going to do some research to see if the person is right or not.

EDIT: I can't find my sources but I just heard people talking about the upcoming movie? A lady said her childern are reading the epic series, Plus I think clash of the titans is based of a book.

It just doesn't scream ancient Greece to me. It might well look better on the big screen in context, though.

 

Yeah, I don't like that shield especially. Its spikey non-symmetrical design is not Grecian in the slightest. The breastplate and shoulder-plates are authentic-ish to my eye, though. Do we know who the female figure is at bottom left?

Here we go again with the unsubstantiated rumor-mongering. The 1981 film is not based on a book, but there was a novelization of the film published, as with virtually every other genre film since the late 70s. (The book was written by Alan Dean Foster, who ghost-wrote the Star Wars novelization in 1976, among many other film novelizations.) There is no "epic series" of books based on or inspiring the 1981 film. There might be some adolescent-fiction Greek mythology books, which caused your "person in a bookstore" rumor-mongering lady some degree of confusion, which transferred to you.

I've said this before, but I was pretty interested in the film. Then I saw the trailer in which a grimacing hero jumps around stabbing things to rock music while people fall in slow motion, accompanied by the terrible tagline someone else mentioned. It reminded me of 300 and Transporter, and then lo and behold the director also directed Transporter 2. I realize you can't judge a movie by its trailer, but there are definite signs. So for now, it's Goodbye Clash of the Titans, Hello Generic Hach 'n Slash #45867.

I realize I may be treating this with excessive pessimism, but no entity is so capable of ruining a good thing as Hollywood.

 

Very fun trailer! Looks amusing. I want to see the original now.

Is there going to be sequels to this movie once we get the first one done? I am not holding my breath for the sequels but I just want to know is all.

EDIT. Not to mention theres a War of the gods movie comingout too. Greek mythology too.

Well, I've got mixed feelings about the trailer. It's not what I expected.

 

Lets just hope the next trailor is better then the one we have just seen.
