I ordered my figures from Iconix since it's a couple of dollars cheaper when buying the set. I've just received an email saying they're due there next week (due at Hasbro "late this week"), so it's probably not worth checking in the shops this weekend.

I don't know if the Warehouse will actually get them. They've been pretty slack with recent "standard" figures, but since these are the start of the Episode II hype machine, so they may well get some - but I wouldn't expect huge numbers like they had for Episode I.

K-Mart have been reasonably good with recent releases. Some of the ToyWorld branches are also pretty good, but these are "independantly owned", so it's up to the individual shop owner to decide what to stock - Hasbro's insane case arrangements don't help. :(

Wow, just think, in a few months we'll have Ep 2 figures everywhere! I rememeber for Ep 1, the warehouse at Manukau had an entire aisle they devoted to Star Wars toys.

Did I buy any? No. I waited a while then picked them up for $4 on special.

The Clone Trooper comes with a DIY Cloning machine so you can make as many as you want - just watch out that the Greenies don't come and picket outside you house. :p

Episode II won't be as big a merchandising splash as Episode I was - too many stores got burnt by ordering WAY too much.

BUT, I do know that they've had to order in an extra delivery of the Dorling Kindersley books - my copies are already ordered. :)

LOL at DIY cloning machine! [face_laugh]

Agreed. theres no way we'll see the numbers that we had last time, although I'd be surprised if they didnt sell well, the release of Episode 1 has spawned a new generation of young Star Wars fans. I can see myself climbing over countless kids to get the E2 figures :)

Star Wars collections are a little like computer data - it expands to fill the available space, and you always need more space. :)

In our old house I used to have a double-sized wardrobe in my bedroom that was used to store my Star wars collection as well as clothes, etc. Then we moved to this new house and I get two rooms (bedroom and study), both with a double-sized wardrobe. Now my Star Wars collection has a wardrobe all to istelf, and that's over three-quarters full already. :)

Convinced my friend to buy all 4 :)

They look pretty good, if not a bit narrow.

I just received an email from Stuart at the Iconix store in Hastings ...
    Hi Guys,

Just for your information on the next lot of toys.

    EP2 #84851 COLLECTION 1 $17.95 each for set sales
    EP2 #84861 COLLECTION 2 $17.95 each for set sales
EP2 #84859 DELUX FIGURE ASSORTMENT $34.95  each for set sales (maybe a little less?)

No information at this time on who or how many in this EP2 range. I will let you know as soon as I get more info. Hasbro has informed my supplier that these will be limited as far as quantity goes for NZ.

Have placed a pre-order for these blindly as there may be allocations from Hasbro.

These will be out end of April. Please email me if you are interested in these new sets as trying to get an idea on amount.

You won't be held to these orders as its just to give me an idea on how many boxes I need to pre order as I don't want you guys to miss out.

Also Hasbro have now sold out of the following:

This set of 6 contains the following figures from:

    Star Wars  POTJ Collection 2:

    Queen Amidala - Royal Decoy
    Rebel Trooper
    Imperial Officer
    Eeth Koth - Jedi Master
    FX-7 Medical Droid
    Zutton - Snaggletooth

So well done on those that did not miss out.

    Thanks again Stuart
    Iconix

So if you're interested, let him know. :)

Also, it seems like some naughty Wal-mart staff in the US have been putting the Episode II figures (4" and 12") and Lego on the shelves ahead of the release date ... tut, tut!! :)
