FFUK: North by North-East Monthly Curry meets [UPDATE! Sie's Bday Curry, Bp Auckland, 15/16th June]

I may not be free on Sat 20th either.
If it'll be held south of Newc, then I should be able to take the car (and anyone else from up this end!)

 

Just thought I'd bump this one up. If we don't manage to have a curry this month, just thought I'd suggest having a joint curry+cinema trip in Feb...perhaps to see Hot Fuzz??

Count me in! At least i'll try, i have a few taken-up weekends in Feb, but I should be able to pop up - just have to be conscious of my train times back!

Also Akbars in York (also in Leeds, Bradford and Manchester) do a really nice meal - if you fancy doing a night out in York some time.

Thinking on - York or Leeds are both reasonably good places for a joint NE/NW meet being sort of halfway between and on main transport lines - mind you the train is getting expensive these days!

York is nice, I didn't get beaten up the night i took my green fx lightsaber round town!

The lightsaber thing was accidental...for my work summer party we went outside of town for a BBQ - i took it along, but then everyone piled into town at like 10, and there's me walking into bars with a lightsaber...woot!

Anyways - for the sake of putting dates up there - 17/18th?

 

If that's Feb I wouldn't be able to make it. Is me dad's birthday.

Cool I think Feb would be cool, nothing major happening for me then and no A-Level exams

 

I'd struggle to do the last weekend in Feb unless it was the Sunday - as i'm off to the Sheffield Vs Spurs game!

 

Well better late than never but yeh, there is a geat indian in Richmond. The Amontola, Looks lik Feb may be booked but if anyone want to come over in march then I'm happy to open up my house for crashers after. Can maybe have a night on the town with it.

HF opens on 16th Feb, so maybe give it a week to die down?? If we're looking at a Fri or Sat, then that'd give us 23/24 Feb or 2/3 March

Sounds like a decent idea.

Since we had the curry in Newcastle last time, should we look at alternate locations? Durham/Boro/elsewhere?

 

Cinema venues:

Vue ? York or Hartlepool
Odeon- Darlo (looks pretty small), Metro Centre, Silverlink (N Shields)
Empire- Ncle or S/land
Cineworld- Boldon or Boro


Metro Centre could be a good one- shopping, cinema and curry all under one roof! And it has a train station on the same line as Boro/Hartlepool...

 

Darlo lacks a decent venue for curry. Plus, yes, apart from the main screen (which is a converted theatre) it is really small.

 

Great Idea the Metro Centre has plenty of stuff to do, plus easier to meet up.

Yep, Spice Bollywood....at least I'm fairly certain it's still there. I'll have a look the next time I'm in.
