Sloppy game on D, but more than enough offense to make up for it.

The Rangers victory over the Devils Monday clinched the playoffs for them :D.

San Jose hasn't been able to play a full 60 minutes in weeks. They aren't mathematically eliminated yet, but I'm not holding my breath for them to even make the playoffs this year, let alone have any success in them. Is this how Toronto fans feel all the time?

Toronto fans only feel like that this year because up until February they were actually a playoff team.

Anyone have the start of the season (and pre-season) marked on their calenders? If there IS one, that is.

Exactly 82 games. When I saw that headline I thought they meant the entire season. =((

You mean like he did after the last lockout that wiped out a season and nearly obliterated the NHL?

Why the hell does this have to happen the year after I start watching the NHL regularly? I've had enough of a headache braving out the NFL and Ref lockouts there. Ugh.

I am not too fond of Fehr, either. The NHLPA is going to simply be PA by the time they are finished. Ovechkin told reporters that he may not return from the KHL if the 'back & forth' is always going to be this dramatic.

Well Fehr was the man at the head of the MLBPA when they had their infamous 1993 strike that wiped out the World Series, so he does have a record here.

There will be NHL games this season. There are not nearly as many issues as the last lockout. And despite what you see or don't see on ESPN, hockey is growing in popularity worldwide. The NHL is bigger and stronger than ever before.

Yeah, the NHL is growing in popularity. I'm evidence of that myself. Which is exactly why this is the worst time to have a lockout [face_plain]

I say we lock all of them IN a room together and don't let anyone out until there's an agreement.

Seriously, there was a big article in today's paper about how this is affecting the local economy. (It's not like Bettman cares.)

Despite the fact that he's an owner, I WILL wish a happy birthday to my all time favorite hockey player, Mario Lemieux. If only because he's my idol. (NOW GET TO WORK, MARIO! YOUR FANS ARE DEPENDING ON YOU!)

I'm not talking about for me. I'm saying the last time the NHL was starting to gain popularity, there was a lockout and it set back all their progress. So it's clearly a good idea to do that again.
