IC: Loud enough for her to hear, I say/yell, "No, sorry Nimrod. I know that you may be programmed in the ways of pleasure, but I'm just not into robots! I'm all about the ladyfolk !"

 

In Game: Nimrod slyly pipes up and says loud enough for Lt. Kessler to over hear (with his voice throwing circuitry engaged), "I don't care what you have to say about Lt. Kessler. She's not a Robot!"

Colonel Decker sensing something's afoot arches an I brow and says, "Amen to that! Anyone who'd say otherwise would-in my opinion-be an idiot!" He looks at you meaningfully. But you notice a glimmer in his eye as if he's playing along with Nimrod's statement. Suddenly you notice the entire room is very quiet and Lt. Kessler is got a whole new shade of rouge on her face. You've just been had.


Decker stands and says, "Everyone remain seated. I have an announcement to make. For the past four days we've been working round the clock to put together our catch from north of Hebe Chasm. Major Ropper assures me that all needed modifications have been installed into the Hanabu IV styled craft. Our goal is to make a major assault on their base of operations at Hydraotes Choas..."

While Decker drones on about assault plans and military jargon, etc., your cell phone circuit interface quietly signals you of a communication from Nimrod. Upon answering it he texts you this message.

--If you want me to straighten out your mess with getting a wonderful relationship started with Lt. Kessler, I had better not hear one more wise crack about robots or any other put downs! Got it?! Or you can dig your sorry rear posterior out all by yourself! First impressions are very importent with Lt. Kessler. She also has a memory light years long. Believe me! If you want her, you shape up or you can ship out! Ball's in your court Doeboy. y or n.--

Before you can even attempt to try and save the file it erases right before your eyes except a temperary reply address at the top with a counter that's decrimenting from 60 seconds down towards zero. Nimrod for all intents and purposes appears to be enthralled with Decker's speech/briefing.

Lt. Kessler seated next to Major Perez across the large table, seems to be literally light years beyond your reach. She is totally focused on decker's briefing. The counter is decrimenting. Thirty seconds to go.

 

IC: I frantically text back, YES!!!

 

In Game: As if by magic a response returns to your cell screen. --You better hold to your agreement. I unlike Dr. Epstien have teeth to back me up! In the mean time I suggest you learn the meaning of the word charming, which is something you lack. Kessler doesn't like grunting cavemen with bad breath, foul mouths and a preoccupation with sex in their thought lives. Got it? She's all business while on duty! Treat her with respect and you'll do well! Don't and you won't! Simple, even for you! Give me about a day to patch things up with you and her as compatable material, then I'll do the introduction thing. Now pay attention to Decker, before he realizes you're playing with your cell phone and asks you what you find so fasinating about it over his briefing on what's coming up in your near future! Remember this day! Later!--

A few seconds after you finish reading it, the message winks out like before.

 

IC: I, like a good little boy, begin to listen in to the ongoing conference, but occasionally glancing over at Kessler...

 

In Game: To make a long briefing short, Decker tells all of you that there is going to be an assault on Hydraotes Choas were the Predecessors dwell. There will be cover fire provided by Phobos Fire Control.

The Captured Hannabu IV has been repaired and back engineered. There is a force field defence screen that can be activated to defend the Los Angeles sized city grid from bombardment. In order to eliminate this force field it will be necessary to infiltrate the city's central screen projector building. Other wise the Hannabu IV would have to be adjusted in its own screens in order to penetrate the screen of the city. A fast adjustment sequence will be researched to see if it can be programmed into the screen attenuator, but it is doubted that this will be accomplished in time for the assault. The assault will take place in 72 hours just as Phobos is rising above the Martian horizon relative to Hydraotes Choas. The job of Nimrod's team is to bring the force field generator facility down by the beginning of the scheduled assault. The two key players that are going to be in on this mission to infiltrate ahead of Nimrod's team, are Lt. Shiela Kessler and Lt. Terry Epstien. They will be the ones to plant a set of software crippling viruses into their operating system for the shield emitters surrounding the city and the other arrays of defence systems. Their is also the likely hood of a large contingent of internal security personnel given the current circumstances which have recently occured, thus this will require top notch intelligence. This pertaining as to the wereabouts of the stolen container of the Carbon Death Nano Virus and who's guarding it.

We were able to interregate the more knowledgable members, of the crew of the downed Hannabu IV. By piecing together the information gleaned we have determined that the Predecessors have been tampering with an interdimensional portal of immense power. It is believed that this portal is a relic from a forerunner species that once inhabited Mars as recently as a few thousand years ago. They revealed that the Virus is being reprogrammed as a total killer of all mammalian life so as to clear a bridge head to another place that they have made contact with on the other side of the portal's opening.

This must be stopped at all costs with extreme predjedice! To fail will probably spell our doom! Hence our backup will be to detonate a hell burner directly over Hydraotes Choas! With the expected strength of the defence field we have made adjustments to the yield of the Anti-Matter Warhead. We believe that this will cost us the very exsistance of Mars itself with such a large yield. Hence why it will be so important to succeed in this mission.

Lts. Kessler and Epstien! You are to report to Major Finnian for orientation on the city's defence opperating system at the end of this meeting for immediate training for the mission. You will be joined by Pvt. Arron Iron and one other individual of my own choosing. Lt. John Doe! You are ordered to report to Lt. Colonel Alpha 16 for infiltration training as a possible backup for the mission! This meeting is adjurned! That is all! Dismissed!

 

IC: I start meandering over to wherever 16 is meeting me, along the way dreading the impending doom that is my chance at a relationship with Kessler, as Epstein will undoubtedly be telling her stories about me...

 

In Game: While enroute to your date with destiny, you hook up with Xerxes. He tells you that if you are picked for the mission it will be due in part to your physical appearance. Your blonde hair and blue eyes would be a natural shoe in for one of the captured members that bailed out from the large saucer that pan caked out at the battle site. You'll be given some minor plastic surgery, including botox injections then comes the training. You'll be the alternative infiltrator for the mission. Your job will be to take a brief case with an extremely small amount of AM, to the force field array control center for detination and thus the elimination of the city's primary defence. Xerxes escorts you to the Security Division Building there you are met by Dr. Epstien, her assistant and Nimrod.

"Hi, Doc. The words out. You're on the mission. So Doctor Epstien is going to doctor up your looks to match this guy in the photograph. Any questions?"

 

IC: "GAH! Nobody told me I'd have to change my looks until just a minute ago! How long will they have to be changed? Will there be any permanent changes? OMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMGOMG!!!"

 

In Game: Epstien steps up, places her hand on your shoulder and gives you a gentle squeeze.

"Actually you'll be given a special prosthesis treatment in key locations in your face such as your nose, chin, cheeks, lips and under the eyebrows. This will enable you to adjust your looks on demand. The sooner we get started, the sooner your face will be ready to transmogrify to any face it needs to be in order to infiltrate Hydrates Choas. The procedure requires the insertion of small inflatable inserts that work in consert to alter your face's physical appearance. As for any permanence to the procedure, its completely reversable without any likelyhood of complications."

Nimrod then continues where Doctor Epstien left off. "After that you'll be trained to adjust your facial features with a control device. We'll start off with cookie cutter templates then you'll get more indepth with custom alterations along with training in classic disguise techniques. You'll also be trained in infiltration by our top security personnel."

Epstien then asks you, "Any other questions?"

 

IC: "Yeah: this device seems pretty handy. Can I keep it afterwards? "

 

In Game: A voice from behind you says, "That would depend on the success of your upcoming mission and your willingness to perform other missions if required later on, since the prosthetics are mission specific."

You turn to see Major Charlse Finnian standing looking at you as if he we're inspecting a new specimen of butterfly. You assume its his professinal curiosity and facination with your fabricant origins. After a few seconds he begins to frown at you and says, "I believe as an inferior officer you are required to salute me upon recognition of that fact, Lt. Doe. Are you having trouble acertaining that fact?"

Real quickly you remember the failed brain washing and how it adversely affected you in your interactions with those around you up until four days earlier.

 

IC: "A thousand pardons, sir. I was just used to being a Colonel... So anyways, let's get this going!"

EDIT: Oops... on a different computer. This is Zedd...

 

In Game: Major Finnian chuckles and says, "Well I'll give you credit for zeal. Ok, Tiger. Let's see what you can do for the next 12 hours of intense training. First things first. Let's get you implanted for your new look."

 

IC: "Yes, sir!"

 

In Game: After your operation, your training ordeal is legendary!

 

IC: After backbreaking and mind-numbing training, I come out literally a new man. So the first thing I do: Find Epstien!

 

In Game: Very easy to acheive since she's overviewing your general state of health throughout the first 12 hours of training. Since time is limited you meet up with Dr. Epstien during final meal before you turn in for seven hours of solid sleep.

"Your doing very good, John. We've taken something that the Predecessors were using in their saucer for accelerated rest and healing under extreme conditions. It seems to be used to induce an increase in the rate of time passage for anyone sleeping within the field of influence. For you, a full night's rest will have passed. For me a couple minutes will have passed. That way we get more bang for the buck with your training time. Neat, huh?" She smiled a genuine smile.

"Your next overview officer will be Major Finnian," said she. "For the next twelve, he'll be training you for your next stage of survival skills."

 

IC: "Aww, you mean I don't get to stay with you for the rest of the training? Darn. Well, I'll be seeing you later, Miss." I say and start heading over to that other guy.

 

In Game: "We've got the high speed sleeper all set up for you now. Head back to the infirmery with me and I'll get you set up for your sleep cycle first. Then when your cycle's complete you'll be ready for Major Finnian's brand of specialized training," she says.

The two of you head for the infirmery and upon arriving you get treated to a sensory deprivation tank with saline for human flotation. It proves so comfortable that you slip immidiately into sleep. Seven hours later, you exit the tank fully refreshed and ready for anything, even Finnian. You are given time for a quick shower to wash off the Saline. It is now 9:10 pm local time and you now have another twelve hours of training to do.

 

IC: As I walk to Finnian's place, I comment to anyone around, or to myself, "You know, this place is full of some freaking useful stuff. I really gotta get me one of those super sleeper things!"

 

In Game: Dai Wu meets up with you and walks with you over to the Security Command Center. He brings you up to speed on what's going on with your training schedule.

"You'll be cross training with some of us after you've gone through orientation on the basics with infiltration and espianage now that your equiped for your mission. We're going to teach you a little trick on how to speed up your brain activity to double, triple even four times the speed as would be normal activity for your brain to do. That way you can respond to any emergency and still have plenty of time to think then act on the problem and then deal with it in a quick and cool fashion".

 

IC: "Neat. That could definitely come in handy. Does this little trick come in the form of another body upgrade, or how does it work?"

 

In Game: "Not an upgrade, but rather instead a technique for tapping into the body's adrenal system to make use of your brain's ability to speed up. Under emergency circumstances your brain can speed up in order to give you time to think your way out of a situation. Finnian has determined that your greatest need will be for you to think fast and on your feet during the mission. He'll teach you how to tap into this manifestation and use it as easily as one lighting a cigerette."

 

IC: "Alright, well let's GET IT ON!!!"
