Well since our plans for Mathew Street have fell though, does anyone feel like doing anything still?

Hopefully, the opening of Liverpools birthday celebrations on the tuesday should be still going on.
We could also fit in a visit to the The Art of Josh Kirby

I should ne fine for that day. I just may go to Appleby for a week somewhere in middle of August to get away from everything. That may mean missing the bands thing, but Coz and Glass - you should both go, don't let me stop you!

 

Cool, though I'm not sure Martina can make it yet. We'll have to see how tings go work wise for her.

CIVIC PROCESSION
Time: 11 - 11.30am

Opening the city's official birthday celebrations, Liverpool welcomes a civic procession of international dignitaries and special guests, including representatives from the twin cities of Dublin, Shanghai and Cologne.

800TH BIRTHDAY PAGEANT
Time: 11.30 - 1.00pm

Liverpool's most famous landmark? The people.
The community pageant will celebrate the people of Liverpool today, as well as the unforgettable icons and achievements of the past. 1,500 people will be recreating Merseyside days gone by.

FESTIVAL SQUARES
TIME: 1- 4pm

As the party continues, pageant participants will head to Festival Squares. An array of live music, interactive art, themed entertainment, plus a food and drink market will fill the streets of Liverpool city centre.

FIREWORK DISPLAY
TIME: 10pm

Prepare for an explosion of colour against the world famous skyline as Liverpool celebrates with a spectacular firework display, set to the anthemic soundtrack brodcast live on Radio City 96.7.

To see out Liverpool 800th birthday celebrations with a bang Tuesday 28 August will see Liverpool stage one of the biggest fireworks display the city has ever seen.

The spectacular display will light up the Liverpool sky at 10pm on 28 August and will be co-ordinated to a soundtrack of music broadcast live on Radio City.

The Display has been designed so that it is predominantly aerial and will be able to be viewed from across the City Centre and beyond.

The fireworks will be fired from the Metropolitan Cathedral, Anglican Cathedral and Liverpool's Pier Head
