Does it matter that they knew Dooku ordered the clones? All they really needed to know was that Jango was on Kamino making clones, and then he was at Geonosis with Dooku. And logically you can conclude that whoever Jango was working for was trying to play both sides of the war, most likely in an effort to destabilize the Republic. Add in the fact that this clone army (which took years to grow and train) conveniently shows up just as Palpatine decides to make a Grand Army of the Republic, and you can go off to wonder why the Jedi are running all over the galaxy trying to fight the Separatists instead of looking for this "mystery someone".

the plot is ridiculously far fetched unless it is intended to show the naivity/stupidity/absolute loyalty of the jedi to the republic & therefore make it easier to accept they were all wiped out!

the only defence of thisn point is that seen as jango is a bounty hunter maybe the jedi assumed he was playing both sides against each other

however there is no explaination for the lucky creation of a clone army, just as palps needed one (unless u believe sifo-dyas forsaw the war and took preliminary steps to help the republic...)

I think Shatterpoint said it all.Mace did regret killing Jango and to some degree wish he had not had to do it. It was a war and he was reacting to what he perceived as a threat to his life.
