DFW, TX Man, I don't believe it...

What would you guys say if I told you that Fellowship was playing AT THE IMAX!!!!!

This is no joke. Apparently it is a SPECIAL print, not just a blown-up version. They're showing it only once a day, at 9:30pm.

So tell me, who's up for seeing it in glorious IMAX on Friday or Saturday?

Aw, come on, it's not that far a drive. And we're talking about Fellowship in IMAX here! It's the next best thing to Star Wars.

 

i might have to but driving home from dallas at 11:30 won't be any fun

 

You and Joe can stay at Stone's place. We all practically live there anyway. Just show up with your bags packed. I give you permission.

Hmmm, well I guess Friday didn't work out so well. A few of us got there between 7:30 and 8, and the show was already sold out.

So, let's try this again tomorrow, shall we?

FYI, if you want to go, either get your tickets online NOW, or get them at the box office as soon as they open. The ticket girl said they usually sell out of the IMAX show by noon every day.

It was great!

Too bad I got there a bit late to sit with ya'll but it was still great!

My only complaint is the lady sitting behind me kept kicking and pushing on my seat

Really enjoyed seeing it at the IMAX.
Panning and some of the action shots were blurry, but the sound was incredible!

Unfortunately, we were a bit deceived. It is showing on the IMAX screen, but alas, it is just a regular 35mm print of the film that they show. I'd say it covers about a third of the screen. Still plenty big enough to enjoy, though.

The sound was really good, almost up to the old Galaxy standards.

All in all, it was enjoyable, but just fair warning to everyone that's thinking about going--you're not going to see anything different than you would at any other showing of the film. Just some better sound.

 

so is it worth the trip?

 

Eh, probably not if you've already seen it. It's really not that different from seeing it in a regular theater, as long as it has good sound. Plus, it's more expensive to see at the IMAX.
