hope you don't mind me taking the initiative, but I thought maybe a thread where all meets and events can be posted in could be useful, so we don't have to search through all the planning threads.

Could everyone who's going to the knights thing say so in the knights!! thread? I want to get an idea of numbers.

 

I will be off to uni in october and will be in portsmouth from then untill june/july. I'm hoping to get English Heritage membership so I can go to places. My thought was that we could get a small group together and go to the isle of white for the day and go look at whatever is there.

 

I see you guys are going to Berkeley Castle the second weekend, bummer.

I'm there with my group the first weekend, 22-23.

Would have been great to see you guys but I dont think I can make the second weekend as well.

Its a good event. Usually Destrier (a medieval group with horses)put on a good show in the arena but in previous years there hasnt really been a full scale battle re created. Of course the castle is great to look around as well, and the best bit is we get to sleep there!

So if you do swop weekends, come and see us! Our badge is the stafford knott, otherwise known as the yellow pretzel!


Oh and theres always this , this weekend.

Tewkesbury

Its like Berkeley but Bigger and Better and its Free entry. Its the biggest re-enactment event of the year with a massive market, Beer tent and a battle. We are here all weekend camping on Bloody meadow!

 

I propose a meet to go see Pirates of the Caribbean 2! It's going to be a great film and I expect a lot of people will want to see it, so why don't we all meet up and see it together? If people have Orange mobiles we might be able to get everyone in for half price, if we haven't got enough then we can at least get some kind of discount on tickets. It has to be a wednesday though as the 2 for 1 is only on wednesdays.

We don't have to see Pirates, but I expect that'll be the one that most people will want to see.

How about it then?

There was backstage talk of a plan to go see it tomorrow, but it all died out coz Rob had no transport. Otherwise I cant go unless we leave it until August.

I really wanted to go but things just didn't quite work out.

 

I had a wonderful time, and I definitely recommend to go next year! should be easy for you guys, everyone wants to come to London for the Celebration Europe. But there is no official decision yet, stay tuned in the FFEurope Meeting thread.

ArmadaCon in Plymouth, a small SciFi and Fantasy con with costume competition and all that. It's more like a big party, very friendly atmosphere. Here's the link:
