Its up to you and Fett, and whoever else goes with us. If you guys want to trek to Cary, or Va. Beach, we can do it, or we can just hit a Wal-Mart somewhere other than Roanoke Rapids. I have no interest in going to that one, because they dont ever carry the 12" figures, nor the Unleashed. But I really do think our best bet would be Toys R Us, if we can get to one.

I noticed the Raleigh TRU wasn't listed... the one beside Crabtree. Mistake or are they not doing it?

    FYI (from Yahoo!News):

Group to Acquire Toys R Us in $6.6B Deal
By JEFFREY GOLD, AP Business Writer

NEWARK, N.J. - Toys R Us Inc., the nation's second-largest toy seller, agreed Thursday to be acquired by an investment group that includes two private equity firms and a real estate developer in a deal valued at $6.6 billion, ending a seven-month auction for the struggling retailer.

    ------------

You toy collecter types might want to read this, as it offers a little insight into the current state of the toy production and retail industries. The full article is here.

BTW, in case you've never studied business, buy-outs usually mean business restructuring which leads to downsizing (ie: store/factory closing and job loss).

Yep, Cary is about as far if not farther than Va. Beach is from us. But it is something to discuss tonight, at Fetts.

    "Wal-Mart's Sith Blitz Plans

Toys are to be set up starting at 9:00 pm on Friday, April 1st and roped off until midnight. (Hopefully this will spare us the mangled cards which were dumped into shopping carts at many stores in years past)

In the top 400 stores there will be parking lot sales for the weekend of the 2nd.

Additional EXCLUSIVES will be in the toy departments on April 2nd (in the "normal" morning hours). No details on what yet.

There will be a Darth Vader Standee for photographs in the store

Greeters on April 2 and 3 will have collectible cards (a different one each day) to give out."

Ok, then... sounds like our plan has been put before us.

Friday night, April 1st.... Sin City, early showing.

Afterwards, we leave... bound for Cary TRUS.

Then, we can hit a Wal-Mart either there, or on the way back.

April 2nd, we gather at our Target before 8am, before the doors open, then afterwards, we hit Wal-Mart yet again. :)

    Fun, fun, fun!

Now there are conflicting reports about the TRU Yoda.

Some say 4/2, others the next week.

According to the boards on sirstevesguide.com, Lucasfilm will make some announcement Monday or Tuesday about the exclusives.

    Toys "R" Us Exclusives Update

Posted By Dustin on March 28, 2005
First off, the free Yoda with $25 EP3 toy purchase happens April 10 and is not part of Midnight Madness.

EXCEPT, they will have this offer at the Times Square store for both Midnight Madness and on April 10. ONLY THIS STORE!

UPDATE: At Times Square, the Yoda will be free with a $35 Star Wars purchase only at their Midnight Madness store. On 4/10, there and everywhere else it will be free with a $25 Star Wars purchase.

The Anakin Starfighter exclusive is really a first-to-have offer. It will be available elsewhere later.

UPDATE: Awaiting more info on this item...

What worries you? Some targets goofed and put some on the shelves early, but I should think it wont affect us. I got my flyer for Target in the mail yesterday, as well as a coupon that knocks off $1.00 from every figure you buy from there.

Well, if there's only 30-some Vaders at Targets, I sense there not being enough to go around, especially with folks getting them now.

It has been posted online that the first 36 people in line on opening day of April 2nd will recieve tickets to get the figures. If we do NOT get the tickets, you can trust I will be raising cain with the manager. I WILL find one, you can bet your paycheck on that.
