New Jersey Movies in the Park

Hello everyone,

Last summer, the Fort Lee Film Commission invited us to attend their Movies in the Park viewing of Star Wars: A New Hope. Due to the success of the event, we've been invited back for the viewing of Star Wars: Empire Strikes Back. The event will take place on Wednesday, June 30th. There will be music, starting at 7pm and ending around 8:30. The film will begin at sunset. It will take place at Constitution Park, on Linwood Avenue in Fort Lee, NJ. Please bring a blanket and/or beach chair.

We at the New Jersey Order will be there and collecting donations for the Oasis Foundation.

We would like to extend an invitation to all local fan groups that wish to volunteer! The only requisite is that you show up IN COSTUME (we have plenty of plain clothes volunteers, thanks!). If you would like to help, we ask that you arrive between 5:00 - 5:30pm to assist.

Please PM DARTHGYOS or BELLASABRINA to volunteer or for any info. DO NOT just show up. That would be UNCOOL!!

Sounds like fun, but it depends on work and how tired I am. I'll know for sure when it gets closer.

 

Please spread the word to your friends and families about this event! I have a friend from work who would love to bring her daughter, and her boyfriend is a major fan that I'm trying to recruit.

 

I will be telling everyone I know! I bet that I can gather up about a dozen people for this. Great stuff.

How many people were there last year? Any lightsaber related injuries on record or is this another leave your blasters at home type of thing?

 

Glad to say, NO INJURIES!!

It was a blast, and its going to be even bigger this year. There will be a charity auction and pics with the costumed characters (US!)

No injuries whatsoever. It's a very good time I like the kids' reactions to the costumes

My friend (a fellow fan), her boyfriend (a BIGGER fan)her daughter (who is 9) are coming from Uptown to join us, and my boss (who is a fan too) is probably driving in from Uptown as well. Yay!

 

A guy came into the store today wearing the same exact Dick U shirt that I have. I was DYING. I went up to him and asked him where he got it and it was the same place that I got mine at.

Ok, I have put in for the day off, and worst case is I'll have to work till 1 or so, plenty of time to catch a bus and be at the park before the 5 meet up time.

Ed, the 159 goes to Linwood Avenue. I wanna pass by the park to find out what street to get off at, because my friend will be taking the same bus too, and she's never been in Fort Lee. I'm hoping my boss will drive her, since they live in NYC. He knows where Fort Lee is, so I'm hoping that he'll be nice and drive them all.

But check the NJ Transit bus timetable too for the 159.

Yay! This makes me happy!!

I also got another friend of mine from work to come and join us He doesn't have a costume yet, although he really wants to do a Dark Jedi. I hope to GOODNESS everyone from work comes to check it out

 

Man I am going to miss this only because I am scheduled to work a double shift that night that I can't get out of at all.

I was all set to go to this...and I am so disappointed.

Will they have any other showings this summer or is it wait until next year?

Anyway I will be down again soon when I can.
