I'd want 4 cameras on it.

 

Um...well...if it was felt that a zoom in was needed, wouldn't that suggest a certain, well, deficiency.

BTW, did they use a dolly zoom technique?

So, wang issues aside, is the story compelling enough to warrant me picking up the DVD?

 

I went the itunes route. The opening 15-20 minutes (ie up to and including the attack) were quite good. I've watched 5-10 minutes since and it's starting to seem a bit disjointed, like a stringing together of scenes deleted from episodes.

 

I like it.

Gives explanations to things i've wondered about.


Basically its a story that goes in to explanning just how big an ***hole cavil is.

I've now watche dthe full thing, yes, I think it's worth it. There's a bit in the middle where it does feel a bit like they're stringing deleted scenes together, but I didn't find that to be the case overall, as the Cavil and Anders storylines tie the whole thing together pretty well.

One question: In the original episode where the 2 Cavil's get airlocked, do they have the full conversation they had in The Plan, or at least an indication of it? I'll have to pull out that DVD.

 

IIRC, you dont even see them get airlocked in the original episode.

 

HEY - help me out here.... will the two hour premier of Caprica be the same as the DVD I never bought or rented or whatever?
I figured it might, since they just aired "The Plan" recently, they'd be airing it too.

 

It's probably a bit censored, actually. I'm pretty sure the season doesn't get going until later.

Galactica film

The comments are weird about Synger I have seen the X-Men films he did and Superman Returns and I think he is a good director. I think I would have preferred the tv show folks to have done a film but I am ok with this. I did not watch band of Brothers but people rave about it so having the writer onboard sounds good. The latest mythology leaves much open so I am optomistic about it.

 

The BSG 2 part miniseries is a masterpiece of sci fi television. Why would anyone go up against that? Singer doesn't have the talent for the job.

a reboot not set in the moore universe doesn't really interest me and it's way to early for a reboot of the moore universe. i'd rather they just do a ripoff and not call it battlestar galactica, something that uses a lot of the core concepts of bsg but puts an original spin on it.

 

apparently they're going to reboot everything on a bi-annual basis now. hulk is back up on deck atm.

The Mooreverse was utterly ruined by the finale. I'd only be interested in seeing more of it if they rolled back time and pretended that never happened.

 

well yeah, they're talking about a remake. that's usually what a remake does. i'm assuming it won't be 80 hours long or end the exact same way.

 

I still don't understand that. Because, as I probably said years ago in this thread, if you hated the finale you should have hated the pilot too (where "God (or a being humans call God) is real" is extremely heavily implied). The "let's all get rid of our technology" is probably the only major plot point that wasn't already spelled out in previous episodes.


Anyway, the original was awful. Not going to be seeing something that tries to "remake" it.
