Discussion New Lightsabers ideas

What do you want to see? We had the double now what. How about a curved blade? Wider? 3 blades? I'm not sure what the EU has done

 

Lightwhip would be sweet to see.

Curved blade was essentially Dooku's lightsaber. His hilt was curved which allowed him to angle his blade in different ways compared to the straight handle saber. Gave him better control of the fight.

 

Lightsabers, yes, lightsabers got the props.

 

Ooh I'd love to see a lightwhip! A 3 bladed lightsaber would also be badass.

 

Yea but I mean more of a curved blade like some swords have. A whip could be cool. Even if those big ear Star Trek guys did it already.

 

Different colors: silver, gold, yellow, orange, turquoise, etc.

Maybe a "light-slicer" instead of a light-saber... where the blade is still thin but has some width... idk.

How about a blade that forks off. Has the EU done a thing different?

 

I'd like to see a lightsaber like Gantoris' and Coran Horn's... a dual phase lightsaber that can double it's length!

A variable-length blade, so it could be a light dagger or a lightsaber, depending on what you wanted it to be. You could pair this with a regular lightsaber, and block with the long blade while going in close and ugly with the short one.

 

a lightwhip would be nice, other than that I just want normal lightsabers. A lightsaber is iconic enough on it's own, doesn't need to be "gimmicked" up for each individual character.

although a lightbutterknife would be nice.

 

Variable Length and Lightwhips would be awesome.

Different Colors are fine.

 

Aside from mixing up the colors for a change, a lightwhip would be epic.

 

A lightwhip would be awesome, something like the villain has from Iron Man 2.

 

Why not just make it a 4 bladed lightsaber?

 

When I saw this movie the first thing I thought of was the lightwhip from Star Wars...

 

A couple from characters I made in my SW RPG:

A black blade (which also appeared later in The Force Unleashed). Allows the attacker to strike from the shadows.

A larger, thicker blade. In the hands of a larger opponent (like the Sith ogre in my game), it's like a giant club, that also slices and dices.

 

More texture to the blade itself. Not all lightsaber blades have to look the same. Thicker, too, not that the size should necessarily be an indication of its potency.

With glowing purple veins of electricity running up and down the shaft...

Lightwhips just make no sense. Might as well make lighscythes and lightshurikens and lightbattleaxes while they're at it.

More colors if anything. I'd like to see a yellow lightsaber on the big screen.

 

Lightwhips are fine, especially Lumiya's with the combination of energy blade and mandalorian iron.

 

Luke created what he called a "Shoto" (a half-length lightsaber) to counter Lumila's Lightwhip in the EU. A Lightdagger would be neat - enabling the "main gauche" style of fighting that you describe.

IIRC, there are also a number of neat variations listed/depicted in "Jedi vs Sith - The Essential Guide to the Force".

 

When the lightsaber is turned on it says "Droid!" like the Android phones do.
