New Republic Scientist?

Hey,

I'm working on a fanfilm that revolves in part around a group of New Republic scientists. They're minor characters, but they'll be seen close up in a few shots. At this point they're biologists...the point is, they're working in a lab. My question is, have Rebel/New Republic scientists ever been depicted before?

We were thinking just black boots, black pants, a black undershirt, and a lab coat...but I don't think that's Star Wars enough. Also, you don't really see anything buttoning up the middle in Star Wars. Has anyone got any suggestions? We're on a tight budget here. [time period is 14 ABY]

I know the game Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike featured a mission on Raaltiir where you, as Luke, rescued and escorted a group of scientists, first in a snowspeeder, then in an AT-ST, and finally on foot. Has anyone got any decent screenshots? I searched Google...nothing. On Youtube, the video was blurry.

Well, one of the WEG books had a drawing of a Wealthy Physician, which was pretty much what you described. It's the props and equipment that will probablly sell your futuristic vision. OK, the script and acting should sell it, but the props will help. Straight t-shirt, coat (no buttons), boots, and a few gizmos. Or you could use the jumpsuit approach, with the gear attached to the pockets, and lab coat to hide suspicious origins.

Same book has a xenoarcheologist costume you could recreate with a martial arts Gi top, heavy belt, and poncho.

 

I saw the xenoarchaeologist...he wasn't exactly what we were going for. Does anyone have a copy of Heroes and Rogues who can scan an image of the Wealthy Physician? A Google image search turned up nothing.
