Yes, you read that right...

Sorry this is in English... I'm not fluent in French, and don't trust those auto-translators to parse this properly...

However, this is a legitimate showing - I talked to Mary Franklin at Lucasfilm about it last week, and got the official confirmation from Atomfilms yesterday... there really will be a selection of fanfilms playing in the Cannes Market during the festival...

And yes, you still read that right... I'm still processing it myself... :D

    Here's the schedule:
Thursday, May 19 - Short Film Corner
    Escape from Tatooine - 11:30am
    One Season More - 11:35am
    Pink Five - 11:39am
    Crazy Watto - 11:43am
    SW Gangsta Rap - 11:45am
    Silent But Deadly - 11:53am
    JabbaWookiee - 11:59am
    Speeder - 12:01pm
    Christmas Tauntauns - 12:06pm
    JarJar's Walking Papers - 12:09pm

Apparently, these films were requested specifically by the Cannes festival organizers - they wanted something fun to go along with the premiere of Revenge of the Sith at the festival, and they came to Atomfilms with a list of the ones they wanted to run...

If there's anyone in the area who might be at the festival who could try to pick up a program or flyer with this info in it for me, or take some pictures at the screening, I would really appreciate it... :D

Fenn (who apparently can now claim to have had a film screen at Cannes!)

Really cool, I'm happy for you.
But nobody is living in Cannes and we won't be at the Festival.
But if I find something in newspaper or so, I'll warn you :)

    Congratulations!

I think it's a great idea to show fan films at Cannes. After all, non-professional movies can be really good, and it's nice to make the Cannes stars realise how SW can be a real inspiration to many creative people.
