I'd give it an 8. The lack of the Mouth of Sauron scene was very disappointing as was the way the ring was destroyed. It didn't happen exactly like it did in the book was is disgraceful. Plus Merry shouldn't have been in the final battle.

It was better than TTT and the soundtrack and SFX were absolutely superb but there were too many parts to ROTK when I had to stifle my urge to burst out laughing. The opening scene made me slightly unsure that I was sitting in the right movie and throughout it was so silly at points - the part where Aragorn calls out to Sauron at the Black Gate was just NOT good.

Plus at times I thought the film was trying to be a musical... was all that singing really necessary?

Overall it was a good movie - Shelob was truly terrifying (I HATE spiders) but Saruman shouldn't have been cut out and other parts should have been left on the cutting room floor.

When I originally voted, I gave ROTK a 9. However, I saw it again with a friend yesterday, and realized that it deserved a 10- at least. Wish I could change my vote, because in my mind, this movie deserves no less than a 10. :D

Too long. Too slow in parts. Kind of silly at times. Effects of the ghost army were pretty weak.

Solid 9. Some parts seemed rushed, while others seemed to crawl. It had a great score though...

A very solid film. Peter Jackson dealt a fine hand to satisfy hard-line Tolkien fans and the average movie-goer. There were few points where it stuttered, for lack of a better word, and though the emotional scenes pushed it, it never fealt over-done.

Not since Incredible Journey was there a movie, ROTK, that made me choke up and tear. When the tower of Barad-dur fell and the faces of our heroes looked on, and the music that themed Mordor altered to that of victory, to be precise.

Also...I enjoyed Theoden's speech on the Pellenor Fields(?) more than Aragorn's speech in front of the Gates of Morder...Viggo's voice at that moment was unexpected, but uplifting :).

    There was no Saruman.
    No Saruman, no 10.

My thoughts exactly. (No Wormtongue too, = -1 more [face_plain] )

    9.9

I cried the full 3 1/2 hours, so when the immense number of endings started, that was just too much.

The Saruman/Gandalf scene was too important in my opinion to be cut out.

    9 it is.
