That sounds awesome! I wish I had a super hero physique. :p

I don't think we'll be making Dragon*Con next year unless CNSFX has a really uninteresting guest list (they're both the same weekend next year).

In other news though, I did just special order the pants, boots and vest for my Rebel Fleet Trooper from Iron Mike's.

Wingnut - That would be sweet! The more the merrier! :D

So far we have a Blink, Wasp, Gambit, Mister Sinister and possibly (still up in the air) a Venom or Ghost Rider.

    Doc -

How does your fabric look? I know Maggie said she needs to try and return hers because it was stored wrong at the fabric store and there are pretty permenant creases in hers.

    Hopefully you made out better?

    Oooo... :(
I haven't taken mine out of the bag yet.
My sewing table is now being used as a mold making table... :p
I don't even want to think about what to do if something is wrong with my batch. [face_worried]

Yeah, you could easily pull off any of those costumes. That would be awesome! Let me know what you're leaning toward and I'll relay the info to the others. The more the merrier!

If I could go (and lose enough weight) I'd want to be Marvel Girl/Jean Grey (original team comic style) or Rogue (plain clothes movie style). Maybe someday...

Thanks for hosting the party and letting us view the Holiday Special..lol. That was the weirdest sw thing I have ever seen.

Thanks to Katie for helping me (and Emily) with the Preggo padme costume. The gauntlets are almost done, just a little embroidery left to finish. Once we get this one finished we are going to try and make the Simplicity Leia dress. So we'll have more projects for future costume making parties. :)

Sorry you two kinda got stuck in the corner of the sewing room there.
I'm going to make sure to get more furniture cleared out of there before next time. I'm hoping the "threat" of another party and the fact that I have 3 costumes I'd like done will motivate me to make sure that room stays cleared. :p

Well, Im not exactly helping. Thanks for letting us use your house not only as a Prop Making Party-Place, but as a Mold Making one as well!

Wookie_cookie - Let me know before you start that Leia dress. I have a much, much, much easier (and a whole lot more accurate) way to do it than that Simplicity pattern. ;)

Wingnut- go for Punisher, Yeah baby

All this costume talk is making me nutts. Ok besides all the different Han stuff that I am looking at aquiring someday, I want to do an Imperial officer, the black one to go with the Troopers. What kind of material do I need for Imp. officer stuff? I guess I will go look around. I found a hat tutorial once. An Imp. officer looks to be easier to do on my bank account then the rebel trooper. Then there is Hans Endor Jacket, also some kind of Holster that would pass for at least 2 out of the three different ones that Han wears.

(This thread just won't die, eh? Not bad for an event that took place days ago...)

Well...I just can't stop! What with CNSFX looming just hours from now, the press is on to get things to perfection, costume-wise. Last night, Jedi food pellets we're the item of business. Check out the results...

I bought the Testors enamel Special Value paint set at Wal-Mart for around 7 bux (and a grey color that wasn't in the set for $1.07), a bag of craft beads for $1.94, stuck the appropriate sized beads in the end of the pen caps with some glue, waited for 'em to set, dis-assembled the metal clips from the plastic caps, put 'em on shishkabob skewers (there's a small hole under the clips that allows you to do this), and painted 'em! Toughest part was mixing Gold, Red, Yellow and Silver enamels to get the copper/bronze color... but it worked and it was kinda fun. Maybe we'll have to do a "Making Jedi food pellets" workshop at Prop and Costume Party 2!!

Also made a trip out to Iron Mike's Military Exchange in Ontario, Wayne County yesterday, to seek out a new "Indy" shirt, and found a pretty nice one, at just $12.99. Also saw what I believe to be the vest you spoke of, Nicky, for the Rebel Trooper uniform. I may have to do this outfit, too, or just pick up the vest, 'cuz it's cool! Also saw what I'm positive were the ammo pouches that attach to the Sandtrooper pauldrons. They are in fact French ammo/clip pouches, and I recognized them instantly. They were reasonably priced, and I might have snagged them for one of our TK's, but I gotsta save as much as I can for CNSFX...

I've flattened my new tabbards, found another pouch (or two) for my Anakin belt (to bring the number up to the proper 3), and gathered the rest of my Indy garb... I'm almost set!

Check back later, gang... I'm gonna suit up in both outfits tonight, and snap some pix to see what the end results look like!!!

yeah, thanks for opening up your house for the Prop / Costuming party. It was a fun time, though I didn't get much done, I got good advice, ideas and inspiration.

There is a place up in Irondequoit that rents sewing machines, on East Ridge Road. Haven't been there yet.

Loved watching the Holiday Special. I suppose everyone is gone now heading up to CNSFX. Have a great time!

You may note the scruffy face, but that's staying on for CNSFX Day 1, when I do Indy. Still, makes Ani look tuff... I'll try to get around to dressing up Indy before I go, but there's so much to do tonight, including work at the Nathaniel's! Later!

(In case you hadn't guessed already, I got signed up with Photobucket today...my full album, so far http://photobucket.com/albums/b18/MadKidJedi/)
