Sil's Hopes for the Future

So, I thought I'd write down a few thoughts. They're probably not as coherent as everyone elses, but what the heck...


1. Find a guy

I swear every male person on the planet has a blind spot for me, but that might just be the beer talking. I wish some guy would just try and engage me in conversation.

2. Refugee Solution

The refugee solution we have at the moment is not working, and I wish the current goverment would go easier on the children of refugees and allow them passage to this country. We're being awfully stuck up about a lot of land, here.

3. More beer.

I wish everyone could experience the euphoria of meeting someone on beer and ecstacy, but that's probably never going to happen, so I'll just say, I wish everyone could make up their own minds about this stuff, and end this pointless debate in the senate...

Oops, going a little too SW there...

Anyway, I'll be in Melbourne for the weekend, so see you kiddies when I get back.

 

I should note, that all of this stuff is being written after a few pints, so it's likely NOT to make sense.

but really Kerryn i wish you the best of luck. i find it very hard to believe that guys turn a blind eye to you. it's more likely that they think you're out of their league. so get out there and tell those guys to raise their standards!

 

Yeah. It's always hard to believe that a beautiful woman doesn't get asked out.

Ususally, like Tom said, it's them being intimidated by your extremely good looks and witty banter.

I'd ask you out, but this whole other side of the world thing would take its toll.

You know, these guys above me may ostensibly be joking, or seem merely sympathetic, but they're right, you know. I know they mean it.

If I'd met you in person, or been "in your circle", I would definitely have taken notice of you and would have approached you probably. I'm not ashamed to admit that. And I'm known to be quite hard to impress.

That might be your blind spot a bit; picking up the signals. As if you think they're fooling you when they're really interested or make you a compliment, and that you're not really worth the attention or admiration. You're selling yourself short big time.

I wasn't joking about what I said. At least I don't think that i was.

Guys get intimidated by beautiful girls. Not only that, Kerryn is really intelligent. So, if they're not asking, they're probably not right for you. You wouldn't want to go out with someone that won't feel like an equal to you. But, like Casper said, you have to look for the signals when they're there. What the hell do I know, though. I've failed time and again at relationships.

Can somebody tell me how being the nicest person to ever be your boyfriend, and caring for someone makes me a bad person to have around?

It's true... the average male is intimidated by a female that shows intelligence. When you do find a man that loves you for who you are Kerryn, you'll know he's the cream of the crop.

Oh, I heard of that refugee situation in Oz, and it just tears me apart... I'm hoping for a fair resolution as well.

When I went to Melbourne on the weekend, everybody seemed to be amazed that a girl would travel by herself so far from home for a game of football. But I just don't know any different!
