I might suggest chronological order if possible. Maybe with particular groups being read together- those published earliest first, then those published later.

Thank you for you reply Iron Lord,
Chronological is Definitely a way I would want to start them but I am having trouble finding a complete list of all the omnibus books. The list I have seen all seem to be either missing items or in weird orders

Some of the omnibuses jump around a bit.

Ok are the Omnibus books just all the original comics put into one large book? or are there extra stories that were available nowhere else? Because I think I have almost all of the original comics on my ipad. I hope I'm not wasting my money buying the Omnibus's also

There's a few comics not yet released as Omnibuses- a good bet is to look at Wookieepedia, see what's in each omnibus, and see which omnibuses contain the highest percentage of stuff you haven't got- if you wish to minimise the amount of duplicate comics.

It's not really possible to read all the omnibuses in perfect chronological order because some, like the Boba Fett and Wild Space omnibuses, are based around a certain theme or series instead of strict chronology, so those books jump around in time instead of sticking to one era. This is the closest approximation to chronological order, I think. There are no original comics in any of the omnibuses, but the bolded volumes collect single issues that were never included in a trade paperback before:

    1. Tales of the Jedi Volume 1
    2. Tales of the Jedi Volume 2
    3. Rise of the Sith
    4. Emissaries and Assassins
    5. Quinlan Vos: Jedi in Darkness
    6. Menace Revealed
    7. Clone Wars Volume 1: The Republic Goes to War
    8. Clone Wars Volume 2: The Enemy on All Sides
    9. Clone Wars Volume 3: The Republic Falls
    10. Droids and Ewoks
    11. Droids
    12. The Complete Saga: Episodes I Through VI
    13. At War with the Empire Volume 1
    14. The Other Sons of Tatooine
    15. At War with the Empire Volume 2
    16. Early Victories
    17. Wild Space Volume 1
    18. A Long Time Ago... Volume 1
    19. A Long Time Ago... Volume 2
    20. A Long Time Ago... Volume 3
    21. A Long Time Ago... Volume 4
    22. A Long Time Ago... Volume 5
    23. Shadows of the Empire
    24. X-Wing Rogue Squadron Volume 1
    25. X-Wing Rogue Squadron Volume 2
    26. X-Wing Rogue Squadron Volume 3
    27. Boba Fett
    28. The Thrawn Trilogy
    29. The Dark Empire Trilogy
    30. The Crimson Empire Saga
    31. Infinities

Is there an online resource that keeps an up-to-date list of the Omnibuses, what they reprint, and what is left on the wish list?

Unless you believe "release order > chronological order".

Personally, I think you should just grab one that interests you, read it, and go from there.

Will the upcoming "Unknown Regions" Omnibuses / Omnibi collect all of the L.A. Times strips in original form, or just the incomplete set of "remastered" versions DHC did years ago?

There was a Randy quote last year where he said that they would be originals. My library has about 3/4 of the series in three albums (apparently the sales weren't good enough for the last one to be translated and published in Finland), and they are brilliant. What I'm interested in knowing is whether the Omnibus(es) will be colored. The albums were black and white and Williams' art is so good there was no need for colors.

Hyperspace had the complete collection online for a while. I have a 3 volume hard cover set that's probably at least 20-30 years old. It only collects the Williams / Goodwin years.

Is there any idea when the Dark Empire Trilogy and the Thrawn trilogy will be put into Omnibus form? I can't think of any other big comic series from the 90's that hasn't been collected and was wondering about those two trilogies. I want to read the Dark Empire one so bad.

They might be "too common" for an Omnibus.

They already have been, just without the Omnibus title.

    Thrawn Trilogy
    Dark Empire Trilogy

I haven't seen any of them in years. I do remember seeing a Dark Empire 2 TPB that also contained Empire's End but that was years and years ago. Early to mid 2000's maybe?

What would truly be awesome would be an endnote-including Dark Empire Omnibus.

It seems to me that many stores don't stock the hardcovers.
