    Sticks and Legends:Drumline
    -June 17, 2007-
"Calling all Drummers from far and wide." The director yelled out to the line standing stiffly at attention, their sticks hovering slightly above the drumhead.
"A nation wide competetion to rank each drummer as a chair in the all-nation drumline. For each county of each state that competes, the drumline will march a five minute show and will be judged as with any competetion. Their top drummer will be chosen and sent to the finals, where there-they will compete for chairs. Reward to your school-7,000$"
He threw the paper he had read off of onto the nearest drummer's snare and stared directly at her. She came from attention long enough to look at the paper. It all seemed to dawn on her-all the years of marching as head snare-it make take her to a new level.

A similar paper was mailed to the band directors of every other county of every other high school in every other state of the United States. By now, the same thing was happening to a similar drummer across the states.
And they had only months to train.

    Summary and explanations:
I started this with an odd story, I know. But I put it from the point of view of my character. The whole story is going to be a series of three competetions.
1st competetion is going to be a whole drumline division. You will be competeing against numerous other drumlines from all over the united states. Three will be chosen as the top three based upon posts and the intensity of the marchign performance.
2nd competetion will be all of the top drummers from each line that are chosen to compete with the other leaders. There will be up to 5 finalists that will recieve chairs 1-5, and others will recieve corresponsding chairs according to grading and performance. Nobody is turned away, everyone gets a chair.
3rd competetion will be the finals in which the top five drummers compete for the first chair position. In this, there will be very harsh judging and grading. It will of course be intensity and in this also accuracy of stick hits, pattern of stick hits, mastery of sticks, managibility of the instrument, accuracy of music, rhythm, cadence and most importantly-attention span.

    explanations:
chairs and all-nation drumline is this:
all nation drumline is a group of the best 50 drummers from the united states, and each recieve a chair according to best drumliner. 1st chair is naturally the best of the 50, and chair 50 is the worst of the 50.

    marching and drums:
in this role play I want all drummers to compete as a glide step band. here, drummers will have to
slide:twisting your body to the sidelines as you march to the left or right. feet face the direction, body faces sideline
carry drums in an attentative and presentable fashion:
carry drums on their appropriate harness, drums are presentable as in(heads aren't broken, are shined and tape on sticks are not overpowering)Sticks must stay at the band's corerspoinding attnetion position and must be relevant.
    marching and carriage:
steps are a glade step which means that when you march forward you are to step with the heel digging into the ground slightly, toes in the air. Backwards marching is exactly the opposite, where as you are now standing on your toes, heel in the air. Side marching, you must slide, and marktimes(wait time) is small, where the heel only comes to the upper sole on the shoe/bottom of ankle.
    rhythm:
cadences are drumline patterns that are usually accompanied with yells or chants and are part of the drumline themself.

    Rules:
    1.play fair
2.an impartial judge will be the one to choose the winner of each competetion. not me.
    3.no cursing
4.behind the scenes of the competetion-have fun. please interact with other players
    5.when on field be serious
6.do not disgrace band by joing and mocking marchers
    7.please no rudeness towards others.
8.be realistic. A quad, snare and/ or bass drummer cannot do a flip with their drum in place. cymbal players are real
