Winter and summer both have their perks though sometimes over here it feels like we only get two seasons a year... the cold/wet and the hot/dry season.

 

It can definitely be pretty bad here on the East Coast, when it's 90 it usually feels like it's over 100. Sometimes the humidity is so thick it's more like going for a swim than a run.

 

Perfect for youngsters, CO, terrible for driving (it's the other people who decide to drive at normal speed and/or don't know how to control a skid).

Not like the ice in a freezer at all, really.... It's fluffy and powdery at first, then develops a crunchy crust on top if the temp drops below freezing.

If it could be persuaded not to fall on paths, driveways, car parks and roads (particularly steep hills - I once watched coaches trying to get up one of those.... only to come sliding down backwards[!] a few minutes later) it would be fine!

I'm a winter baby too, maybe thats why I can adapt so well to -30 degree weather after the initial shock

Thank you! I had a gut feeling it was different from the ice in the freezer! Definitely something I want to try out and tabogganing looks like fun... and sled rides too.


Now all this talk of snow makes me want to watch Cool Runnings.

 

Haven't seen that movie in a long time. A looong time.

 

You can freeze a whole case of water in the car on the coldest day

but the snow can either be powdery, light and fluffly, if it's wet it compacts better and you can make snowmen. Thin and wet snow is like driving on ice

Hmmm... there seems to be a lot of negativity on the snow... though I will reserve my judgement until after I have experienced snow.

I LIKE the snow! But I prefer when it's just starting or just melting. But I don't mind a huuuuge blizzard! Whiteouts are fun!

 

September here. I prefer winter to summer though, can't stand hot weather.
