I.E., CA **** The Good Stuff ****

Here are my pix from Comic-Con. I'm really looking forward to seeing pix of Sonya and Darren from Saturday.

I have a ton of swag to pass out!!

 

I took along my smaller camera that I don't use that often. Unfortunately the battery ran out quickly, and I was missing a piece from the charger. Very weird. So we relied on Darren's camera phone, which took pretty good pictures, except that since his phone was new, we didn't know to set the picture size larger, so while his pictures turned out pretty good, they're small. If you have Facebook you can see them. I'll probably upload them to Photobucket as well so everyone can see them.

We saw and had nice conversations with Randy Martinez and Denise Vasquez, the two SW artists who were at our SW Night. They were super nice. Also we had a long conversation with an exceptional artist, Spencer Brinkerhoff. This guy was super talented and SUCH a nice guy, we talked for forever about art styles, how he got to be an official SW artist, everything. He had some artist cards, I can't remember what they're called, but all the SW artists draw them. He also had some prints from Celebration Japan that he wasn't allowed to sell, but if you bought one of the cards for $50, he gave you a print. So we did. We're going to go get it framed. It's called, "Sorry About the Mess", and yes, it's the Cantina scene. He's supposed to be on Facebook so I cam going to look him up. I'd advise everyone to look him up because his art rocks and he's a totally nice guy, who encouraged me in my artistic pursuits.

Kyle Newman was made an honorary member of the Rebel Legion. His wife was signing autographs and he as hanging out with her when a group of us presented him with the plaque. She squealed and was so excited for him! Very funny.

I knew I spelled that one wrong but what's funny is when I retyped it, I spelled it wrong again...sorry!

 

Swag given!!

While being goofy at the Comic-Con with two other chick pilots, we were interviewed by a reported for the Orange County Register. We made the paper. Scroll down until you see us posing in the infamous Charlie's Angels pose. Fun stuff!

Nicole and Ronnie have a softball game they're in, so they can't make it.

 

I'm going back to VVC this semester, and I am actually excited about it.
I'll be that much closer to starting a career, and I also get to have insurance again!

 

That's terrific news, Kris. You're far to smart and talented to not be in school and moving toward a career goal.

Tee-hee-hee, now that's funny.

Some of you may know my family neeeds a new place to live before mid-September, and we've been looking like crazy. Well,my parents just signed a whole bunch of paperwork yesterday...to bid on a house to buy. It not huge and the yard needs work, but so far, it looks realy good. Since they're buying it to live in and not as an 'investment' or to rent out, they get first dibs, as it were. They'll have word whether or not thier offer has been accepted by the end of the week. If it has, Escrow will start. If they get this house, this will be the very last move they'll ever have to make. They deseve to have a break! We've moved 10 times since moving to the High Desert and both Mom and dad are ready to put down roots permenantly.

But anyway, everyone's really excited. Keep your fingers crossed!
