“Programming indicates that absent contradictory orders from established chain of command, when the inhabitants of Carbon Freeze Annex Besh no longer require the assistance of Sentry, Sentry is to proceed to Carbon Freeze Annex Aurek, asses situation and render assistance as needed.”

Solus listened to the droid, Sentry, and tried to ignore his stomach churning. The prospect of eminent combat having been removed, his nausea was returning. He made sure to keep a hand on the wall to alleviate the dizziness that made the room spin.

    “Follow Sentry.”

Solus nodded weakly, following the rest of the group as they moved out of the annex and into the corridor. Conversation was put back and forth, but he just concentrated on breathing deeply, trailing his fingers along the wall, and regaining his balance. He closed his eyes, letting his fingers guide him, and matched step with the mechanical sounds of Sentry’s steady gait. The rhythm soothed him. He drew upon the Force to help, and it slowly began feeding him information.

The walls were solid, and strongly constructed. They were not moving.

The floor was steady, and the grit that crunched under his boots gave him traction. He would not fall.

If he fell, the Force was there to catch him, as always, even though it felt different than he remembered.

Sentry’s steps were precise, and their precision helped his own steps become more steady.

He felt his connection to the Force solidifying, becoming stronger, and it helped with the dizziness. He could open his eyes again, without the room spinning, and the conversation slowly trickled back into his mind.

    “Melina, what year is it?”

“Year 16 after the Great ReSynchronization...or about 980 years after Ruusan.”

Solus snorted. Almost a thousand years had passed since he’d been frozen. That meant that his Master was dead. Long dead. As was anyone he’d ever known, for there weren’t very many species who possessed such longevity. They existed, sure, but he’d never met them.

His only links to anything that had happened before he was unfrozen were his own memories, and the people he’d been frozen alongside.

Well, that certainly was depressing. Clearly some humor was needed to lighten the situation.

“First person to make a grandpa joke gets a swift kick in the shebse.”

The Padawan answered quickly, "Year 16 after the Great ReSynchronization...." There was a momentary pause where Briiana wondered what exactly that meant to her before Melina, clearly guessing her dilemma, added, "Or about 980 years after Ruusan."

Briiana's mouth opened briefly, and then shut. She couldn't really think of anything to say after that. Almost a thousand years? She turned back around with a quick "Thanks," directed toward the girl, and started walking again. Yes, the boy's Master was most definitely dead... Unless he had been frozen, as well. Before she could say anything to him, though, she realized that, if he couldn't sense him, there was little chance of that.

A voice, laced with humor, broke into her thoughts at that point. “First person to make a grandpa joke gets a swift kick in the shebse.” It was the Mandalorian from earlier.

Briiana gave a half-hearted smirk, but still had nothing to say. She was waiting on the Padawan, and she was preparing for his reaction to his Master's non-existence.

'Padawan, I believe your master is long dead. As for what we should do at the moment.... I think our best option is to find out what is going on in the rest of the world. We're moving toward your location now, and will join you shortly.'

A long silence followed the Knight's reply. The young padawan really ought to have assumed as much from what little he gathered from the talks going on around him, despite his best efforts to tune it out for the moment. Still the person who had raised him, trained him, and had patience with him was... gone. The disturbing fact that he could not remember his name along with the other lost memories aside, his master had been the closest thing to a father for the young jedi, in addition to being a good friend. He honestly wanted nothing more than to break down in tears, and very nearly did, but in the end only a single tear escaped his eyes. Save for it, his face was blank, but a thin veil it was. He couldn't be a child right now, much as his master had encouraged him to take time to be one, it did not do to focus on training and forget to live. He would have to grieve later, the thought sending pangs of sadness through his mind, the others did not need him as burden of any kind at the moment.

"I... I see." It was only a moment after his soft voice seemed to echo in the room that the young jedi realized he had said it aloud rather than through the link.

    'I... I see.'

The stuttering pause from when he had spoken aloud echoing similarly, identically, through the mental conversation as if were the same voice just delayed. Grief and a deep sadness flickered in out, no doubt some trace of it traveling through the link, as he for the most part held it back.

'I will await you here with the others then.'

Some part of him was holding onto this tentative acquaintance like a lifeline thrown to someone drowning. The fact that none around him had even seemed to glance his way since his questioning of what had happened, though this was likely somewhat his fault, only seemed to strengthen this. Whether this was felt through the mental conversation or was up for grabs, as the young jedi wasn't consciously thinking it.

Briiana felt the boy's pain, the sensation coming to her only a moment before soft words broke the long silence. //I... I see.// She knew he was trying to hold back, but his grief couldn't be completely contained, and she felt an echo of it through the bond. It was enough to tell her what she would face if she reached out to him. //I will await you here with the others, then.//

Briiana felt a small moment of frustration, even as he obviously made the attempt to be stronger. She didn't want to be doing this, being kind to someone, but she would feel far too guilty if she wasn't. He reminded her just a little too much of herself before she had let the anger come and hide the pain. Of course, she quickly reminded herself, his pain was temporary and slight, comparatively. But that still didn't change anything. She still couldn't treat him like she had been treated.

With that thought, she put the frustration away again, without letting it touch the mental contact, and replied, //Good. We should be there momentarily.... if this stupid droid can finally figure out where he's headed.// That was completely unfair to Sentry, she knew, but she had to let her frustration out on something. //How will I know you, Padawan?// For all she knew, when she entered the room, the answer would be apparent, but she didn't want the boy to feel alone right now, nor did she want to feel as though he was a stranger when she saw him. As that thought crossed her mind, she realized she was very much in danger of becoming the boy's adopted master, and she's wasn't entirely sure she liked that idea. Oh well, I'll worry about that later, she thought, hoping Sentry got them to the other room sooner rather than later.

    Corridor.

Sentry continued on as the Jedi followed it. The short trip was taking longer than the calculated time for a journey of this distance. Sentry determined that this was due to factors outside its control. Several of the newly awakened Jedi were moving along at a less than optimal rate of speed. Sentry itself had also slowed its normal rate of speed for conveyance/walking/non-emergency in order to preserve its mechanical components until the required maintainence could be performed on its squealing servos.

For the most part the Jedi following in trail of Sentry were maintaining their own silence. The parts of conversation that Sentry did over hear were of no concern to it. they were not commands or inquires from it for more information. So it stayed silent, save for the sounds of its servos and the ever present thrum created by the back and forth scanning of its single red "eye".

But now, the journey was complete. The group had arrived at Carbon Freeze Annex Aurek. Sentry stopped just outside and to the left of the doorway leading inside. "Carbin Freeze Annex Aurek," it announced. After the Jedi had gone inside themselves Sentry followed them in. Scanning intensified (along with the thrumming) as Sentry assessed the situation in Carbon Freeze Chamber Aurek. It announced its presence to the Jedi that had been kept there. "Sentry online. Sentry is able to assist. By your command."

'Good. We should be there momentarily.... if this stupid droid can finally figure out where he's headed. How will I know you, Padawan?'

It was a good question, though he had never had to describe himself to anyone before now. His mind drifted back to the last time he had seen his reflection, something he and most people knew by heart, and thought on the best way to reply. He for the most part ignored the droid comment, which he automatically assumed to be the nonliving thing walking parallel to his friend, though he didn't consciously register that he thought of her as such, save for the slight boost to his spirit from the joke-like comment. As he thought on the issue, his eyes opened again to find much of his sight returned, for the moment.

'I have a somewhat pale skin tone, dark hair, and silver eyes. I'm also standing in one of the corners. You're close now.'

The last comment was added without thinking really, merely saying aloud in his mind, and thus the connection(as he lacked the control to completely separate the two), of how close they were according to his senses. His eyes turned towards the entrance of the room, interrupting the others in a moment of youthful ignorance to rank, to say, "They're here."

His voice uncharacteristically loud enough to carry over the others bickering, which is what he had assumed it was, shortly before the door opened to admit what he knew to be the droid his friend and senses had told him about.

A true believer of the Living Force, She has always had animal companions for friends, and her touch is known to bring forth plant life, when others thought it was impossible. She can sense the oncoming of many storms. She is friendly and happy to make friends with others, but she has a low tolerance with those who are not respectful of the life of all things around them. She does not like the closed city worlds, that have paved over the natural way of the planet. She does not know that her original ancestors do trace back to Tython. Though she does not like technology that well, she took on the task to be frozen with the other Jedi, as she felt like she might be needed, seeing that a healer of some sort was always useful.

    The Past - Tython

Lyra remembered well the last day before she went to sleep. As much as she had no love for how it was to be done, she understood well the reasons. The Council seemed almost frantic about it. The meetings, the arguments, she remembered them all. Finally, the decision was made, and people were picked for the project. Some of them, Lyra questioned, but decided to trust that the Force and the Council had their reasons for such things.

Lyra had her own reasons as well. She felt that it had been necessary. Even more importantly, she felt it was important that someone who understood the Living Force make that journey as well. She could not explain it, but it was a very strange calling to her. She was a Knight, having been one for several years now, and she spent her timing homing her abilities, and studying the effects of the Force. There were many things, not openly spoken about the project, but Lyra accepted them. But she almost balked when she heard how they were to be put to sleep. Her only condition, was that she took one tiny plant with her. She would not ask an animal to join her in such a thing. She remembered cupping the tiny plant in one hand, as she slipped into dream-state, before the carbonite process began. Considering how they had explained it to her, it was not as bad as she had expected. Just a very small pang of sadness that she felt come from someplace, before she fell asleep...

    ...

    Now

Lights slowly flickered on another table slab of Carbonite, hidden within the back corner of the large room. Slowly the lights began to pick up speed, and then frantically began to flash in their programed sequence, as the others had earlier. Cocooned within, its occupant began the process to awaken. The machine began to hum.

    The Force. Feelings. Voices. Noise.

Even with her eyes closed, and before the carbonite began to clear, Lyra could feel the Force close in around her. Confusion. So many swirling emotions seemed to wash over her. Was something wrong? Were they being woken up? How long had it been? So many questions buffeting her mind, that she gently put up a mental shield. Suddenly, there was movement. A hum of machinery and then a bright light came through her closed eyelids. Was she laying down still, or was she standing upright now? A bit of confusion as she pulled the Force to her, feeling it respond as it always did, as she tried to decipher what was going on. Air, cold and stale rushed in now, as her lungs fought for air, the coldness shocked her, even through her clothing. No droids to assist them? Odd, even by her standards.

The room swam into view, fuzzy and out of focus as she heard the sounds of others speaking a bit in the distance. Since her limbs were unsteady, she used the Force, trying to see if she could discern who's voices she heard now. Surely some of the others who were on the project, she would recognize them. As she put out an arm to steady herself, she noticed that her tiny plant had grown. Not the tiny sprout she had, but now a bit longer, and still alive as well. She cupped it, bringing it close to her, as she concentrated, using the Force upon it, using it as a focus, as she used it to steady herself. Her table was further back than the others, she noted as she looked around now, her eyes slowly being able to focus. Listening to the voices, she felt herself steady. Opening her hands now, her little companion had wound its way around her wrist, like a tiny bracelet. With a smile, she now stood up straight, and looked around.

    Mala Palerma

    Annex Aurek, Tython

"Your help would be appreciated, Sol," Mala replied. He was no technician and although he had some knowledge in repairing electronics, he was not foolish enough to go tinkering around in the Archives databanks to restore lost knowledge when he didn't know what he was doing. Retrieving lost electronic data through a working machine was one thing, fixing the physical databank and retrieving it physically, on the other hand, was something he left to those who could do it. He was a Lore Keeper, an archeologist, someone who researched, explored and dug in the dirt and brought back what he found to be archived.

"Sentry online. Sentry is able to assist. By your command."

Mala then heard and turned his unblinking gaze in the direction he heard the droid. He smiled softly as he sensed the presence of others behind the machine. "It is good to see that the others have awoken," he commented. "Perhaps now we can..." He was interrupted with the sound of machinery different from the guard droid. Although he could not see what was happening with his own eyes, he could hear perfectly well and knew that one of the other carbon blocks was thawing. Wait, its thawing now? he thought and turned a concerned look in the direction of the noise.

How many of us have not thawed yet? How many of us have not survived? He hadn't considered the possibility that the technology used to freeze and thaw them could have malfunctioned over the centuries. The thought of being entombed in carbonite forever or dying from the freezing process chilled him.

"Check the rest of the blocks," he commanded as he turned on his heel and headed in the direction he felt the now freed Jedi. "If this one delayed in its thawing, the others may also have malfunctioned." As he approached, he reached out to get a sense of which of the Jedi had awoken and what he felt was a beacon in the Force so bright, if he wasn't already blind from hibernation sickness, he was certain he would be now. He knew that presence, who wouldn't? There were so few Jedi healers strong in the Living Force that stood out like this one.

    "Healer Te'lorn?" he called.

As Lyra scanned the area around her, looking in the direction of the others voices, she became aware of a presence coming near her.

"Healer Te'lorn?" she heard a familiar voice address her. She turned, and moved, heading for the sound of the voice. She recongnized the voice. It was the voice of a Knight, one who was very studious in the archive files. She remembered him, when she did her various studies."Palerma?" she called to him, ignoring the title for the moment. She moved around one of the various bits of machinery and blocks that were in this area of the large room, when she saw movement nearby. She noticed that while he was looking about, he did not quite seem to focus on her movements. The look on her face immediately turned to one of concern, as she moved towards where she could now see him. As she walked, she noticed now, a rather large droid, standing nearby. The Sentry. And there were others there too, but from this distance, she did not recognize them immediately. Or at least their names did not
immediately come to mind. Effects of the freezing perhaps? She would have to check that. But right now, she had a more pressing issue.

"Knight Palmera." Lyra stated softly, as she came close to him. "Barely awake, and already there is need of my services?" she asked him, teasng him gently. "Forgive me, if I am a bit rusty. It is a bit jarring, to be awaken in such a strange way." she told him, as she now stood next to him. "May I..?" she asked him, and he nodded his agreement for her to aid him. Lyra began to concentrate now, as she gently scanned his body with the Force, looking for wherever in his body the issue was, that was blocking his ability to see. A gently but angry splash within his aura of the Force came to her attentions, and she gently moved her hands, to the area in question over one side of his head. She concentrated in earnest now, gently using the Force to gently nudge, and then remove the offending angry area, easing the inflamation, and allowing the blood flow to move more easily now. With the pressure removed from the nerves of his eyes, his sight should return almost immediately, as she messauged gently his temples. She then brought her hands back down, and tilted her head at him, offering him a smile.

"Is that better?" she asked him now, as she gently scanned him. Not feeling any other immediate issues, she was aware of the tense set of emotions in the room. Lyra looked to the Knight. "So..I take it things are not as we had hoped?" she asked, as she looked around the room. "Or perhaps, exactally as we had feared, would be more correct?" she asked him as she took in the condition of the room around them.

The pressure eased and the warmth of the healing powers of the Force faded from where Healer Te'lorn had gently touched his temple. Mala blinked once and then twice before his brown eyes shifted in her direction, the first time they have ever actually looked at someone since his awakening. "Yes, much better." He could see shapes and color, but everything was out of focus but he could tell even that was slowly correcting itself. "I would have done it myself if I could. I was never one for the healing arts."

His smile faded when she asked about what was going on and the archivist gave a slightly despondent sigh. "You're assessment is correct, Te'lorn. It is 981 AR and the Sith have apparently prevailed against us. Master Sule," he gestured back toward the others and at the Selkath, "has told us the Order has been wiped out and that he and his Padawan are on the run." He paused as his frown deepened and to let what he's thus told her to sink in before he added. "And we have been forgotten, lost to time along with Tython."

The archivist started pacing back to the others with Lyra as he continued, bringing up his concern about the remaining sleeping Jedi. "Right now though, I'm concerned about the others. Like your carbonite block, the remaining sleepers seem to have malfunctioned with the thawing cycle. I am hoping its just delaying rather than 'not working'."

Lyra smiled once more, as she watched Mala blink, and then actually look towards her. "Yes, much better." He paused, then continued. "I would have done it myself if I could. I was never one for the healing arts." Lyra nodded in understanding. "If we all could do it, then I would be out of a job, yes?" she chided him gently. His smile faded away however, as he responded to her other statement. "Your assessment is correct, Te'lorn. It is 981 AR and the Sith have apparently prevailed against us. Master Sule," he gestured back toward the others, "has told us the Order has been wiped out and that he and his Padawan are on the run." Lyra was silent, as Mala paused. That was indeed disturbing. How had the order allowed such a thing to get so far out of control? Then again, they only information they had to go on, were the words on these beings. She would hold her opinion for now until she heard what they had to say for herself. For now, she would not allow other thoughts to run wild. Mala frowned, then added, "And we
have been forgotten, lost to time along with Tython."

Palerma started heading back for the group of strangers, Lyra was thinking. The second part, she was not surprised to hear. After all, they were set aside as a fallback. So it would make sense, that their location would not be known to many, to keep them safe. But to be totally forgotten? Unless something happened to those of the council that had placed them here to begin with. Had the Council failed so badly? Lyra could only shake her head.

As Lyra followed, she could hear the soft hum of other machinery nearby. "Right now though, I'm concerned about the others. Like your carbonite block, the remaining sleepers seem to have malfunctioned with the thawing cycle. I am hoping its just delaying rather than 'not working'." Lyra nodded, as she looked at the rows of blocks. She had no clue just how many had volunteered, but she spoke softly, as she spoke to Palerma. "It could simply be that only some were meant to be awakened first, to ascertain the situation, before deciding if the others should be awakened. After all, we now can not go back asleep. It would be prudent to only awaken a smaller number at first." Lyra looked around. "Either that, or we simply have to accept that this old equipemnt, is being stubborn." Lyra stated with a straight face, as she stepped behind him, to now scan the faces of those she could now see. She listened intently to the discussion that was now going on, as she lightly touched the Force in the room around them, checking the area around them. With so many emotions flooding the room, she was focusing on what else was going on around them, trying to discern what other, if any, dangerous might present themselves, to the newly awakened Jedi.

After a moment, during which Briiana steeled herself for her reintroduction to the other Jedi, the Padawan answered her question, //I have a somewhat pale skin tone, dark hair, and silver eyes. I'm also standing in one of the corners. You're close now.//

Just as he finished speaking, Sentry came to a stop beside a doorway, announcing, "Carbon Freeze Annex Aurek." With a half-smile, Briiana answered the boy, //I know. I'll be there momentarily.// Stepping past the droid, Briiana entered the chamber, then quickly looked around for the Padawan she'd already established a mental connection with. Finally her eyes fell on a small figure in the far corner, but she continued scanning the room, not realizing that the Padawan was so young.

After continuing her search in vain, her eyes went back to the child, and she realized that his hair, eyes, and skin all matched the description the Padawan had given. Keeping her expression neutral, not wanting him to feel that he was in any way "small", for lack of a better word, in her eyes, she strode over to him. Crouching slightly, so that she no longer towered over him, she questioned, "Padawan Sirion?" She sincerely hoped none of the others were paying attention to her, or, if they were, that they at least didn't recognize her. If they thought she'd changed, they would be so wrong. Erasing the glower from her mind before it reached her face, she waited patiently for the Padawan to speak, or react in any way.

'I know. I'll be there momentarily'

The door that had opened only moments before to admit the droid that he had sensed and been mentioned to him wasn't the only motion and noise going on around him. One of the other carbonized jedi had awoken, one he remembered thankfully, at least to some degree, a delay after him and the others that had the young padawan concerned for the others yet to be thawed. Wait, there were others? Calen briefly glanced around him to see the other alcoves along the walls and for a moment a rather foggy memory flowed through his mind of himself being frozen alongside the others, the creepy misty cold that seemed to take forever and yet passed quickly as it froze him. Had it been uncomfortable? He thought so but the silver eyed jedi padawan couldn't remember as the memory slipped from his grasp.

His head turned back towards the door and his mind freed itself from its swirling thoughts for a moment as the first of the jedi from the other room entered. It was her, Knight Shapur. He didn't recognize her by looks, as he had no idea what she looked like before she had come through that door, but Calen's other senses, they all but shouted that it was her, she felt the same, had the same aura in the force that he had felt as he had telepathically talked with her. She glanced about the room, her eyes for a moment resting on him before continuing. In his own mind she was probably making note of the others, perhaps she knew some of them. At some point her gaze turned back to him before she began walking his way, crouching slightly when she reached him.

    "Padawan Sirion?"

A slight smile slowly made itself known on Calen's face before he replied, "Knight Shapur!" He exclaimed quietly, not wanting to interrupt or otherwise draw attention from the others in the room. He had the feeling he should recognize more of them than he did, but that was something to worry about later. "I'm glad you're here," He began, glancing off the one side, a somewhat nervous expression on his face. "I'm not sure what we're supposed to do now. I-If the others are right than we're the only jedi left." His head bowed, "I've been trying not to eavesdrop on or b-bother the others but it sounds t-terrible..." Calen looks up his face apologetic as he spoke again, the slight stutter gone, "I'm sorry Knight Shapur, I'll try not to let fear get to me again." No doubt referring to his stuttering, however much less it was from the first time.

    Tython

Sai-rea shivered slightly as she felt the slight nudge in the force caused by Briiana. She frowned briefly and turned towards her but stopped as the Droid began to speak.

“Follow Sentry.” It said, as it began to walk out of the room.

Sai-rea joined the group as they moved out of the annex and into the corridor. She didn't talk but just took in the surroundings. The halls were starting to crumble slightly plants grew here in there, she half-heard Solus ask the padawan what year it was. It was her answer that shocked Sai-rea out of her revere.

“Year 16 after the Great ReSynchronization...or about 980 years after Ruusan.”

“Almost a thousand years! By the stars.” She said in amazement

“First person to make a grandpa joke gets a swift kick in the shebse.” Sai-rea laughed at this.

"Carbin Freeze Annex Aurek," it announced. Sai-rea walked past sentry and entered the chamber. She was greeted by a shout from what appeared to be a young padawan, "They're here."

The group all filed in Sai-rea smiled, she recognized some of the faces.

"Sentry online. Sentry is able to assist. By your command." The droid said.

"It is good to see that the others have awoken," Sai-rea recognized Master Sala’s voice she gave a respectful nod in greeting. "Perhaps now we can..." he stopped as the group turned to the remaining carbon blocks, ‘apparently we didn’t thaw out all at once.’

"Check the rest of the blocks," Master Sala commanded as he turned on his heel and headed in the direction he felt the now freed Jedi. "If this one delayed in its thawing, the others may also have malfunctioned”

Sai-rea was curious and so followed behind Master Sala she kept here distance though as he went to greet the newest Jedi.

    "Healer Te'lorn?" he called.

Sai-rea watched as the newly thawed healer began to heal Master Mala of his blindness. She was always fascinated by the Jedi healers but she herself was not sensitive enough to the living force nor actually have enough patience to actually become a healer herself.

As they started conversing with each other Sai-rea walked over the remaining blocks intent on figuring out why they were not functioning correctly. Her attention was drawn to what the healer and master Mala was saying.

"Right now though, I'm concerned about the others. Like your carbonite block, the remaining sleepers seem to have malfunctioned with the thawing cycle. I am hoping it’s just delaying rather than 'not working'."

"It could simply be that only some were meant to be awakened first, to ascertain the situation, before deciding if the others should be awakened. The healer was speaking softly and it was hard for Sai-rea to hear. Some might consider this eavesdropping and they might be right but she had no malicious intent ‘Curiosity killed the dune cat’ Sai-rea shook her head at the old saying. So if she is correct then our awaking at this time is in fact meant to be than an accident. She looked around the room naming trying to name off the Jedi she knew, there wasn’t many; she also took note that Briiana was talking to the young Padawan that shouted when he saw them enter. “You know”, she said to no one in particular, “We really need a meet and greet here.” she then went back to working with the key pad on the carbon block in front of her. Seeing as there was no progress being made, that and she was never a master at electronics, she then decided to seek out Padawan Melina for a history lesson.

    Annex Aurek, Tython

As Lyra made her way back towards the others while walking with Knight Palerma, she scanned the others faces briefly. Some seemed to remember others from before the thaw quite easily, while others seemed a bit more reserved. She smiled, but didnt say anything at the moment. Coming out of carbonite as suddenly as they had, it would most likely take some time for things to feel normal again. She also realized that they should find something to eat, and soon. 900 years on an empty stomach! Talk about the ultimate diet.

“You know”, Lyra turned to face the young woman, who suddenly had spoken out. It was a face she did not presently recognize at the moment. “We really need a meet and greet here.” she stated, before she went back to working with the key pad on the carbon block in front of her. The woman stopped, and then moved away from the keypad. Lyra then stepped forward.

"I agree." She stated, looking around at the group. "Since my .. 'pod' was a bit late in responding, I would like to hear what has indeed happened as well. And since being frozen in Carbonite does tend to have a few lingering, if only temporary side effects, slow memory recall being one of them, a chance to place names to faces would be appreciated." She folded her hands in front of her. "Besides, I dont know about any of you, but after being asleep for so long, we shall be feeling another side effect soon. Hunger. And I, for one could appreciate a bit to eat, while our 'visitors'," Lyra turned, looking slightly at the two beings who manor of dress seemed much different than everyone else "can rest, and then tell us what has happened during our sleep."

Lyra turned to look at Knight Palerma, and then looked over at the huge construct, Sentry. "I take it, that Sentry.. can monitor if any other pods become active, even if he is not here. And unless anyone here is an expert on carbonite freezing pods, we might do more harm than good, fiddling with 900 year old equipment." she added, before going silent as she and waited for the others to respond.

IC: Briiana Shapur - Jedi Temples - Tython

For the first time in a long time, Briiana felt welcomed as a small smile spread across the young Padawan's face before he exclaimed, "Knight Shapur!" Her answering smile was genuine, also a first in many, many years for her, but then changed to concern as he looked away nervously, saying, "I'm glad you're here. I'm not sure what we're supposed to do now. I-If the others are right than we're the only jedi left." His head drooped, and Briiana felt a small surge of sympathy for him. The fact that none of the others were left was more of a relief to her than otherwise, but she knew that for him it was a terrifying prospect. "I've been trying not to eavesdrop on or b-bother the others but it sounds t-terrible..." Briiana almost felt irritated at him again, not for stuttering, but for worrying about eavesdropping and "bothering" people. She quickly wiped the almost unnoticeable expression from her face as he looked up apologetically. "I'm sorry Knight Shapur, I'll try not to let fear get to me again."

Briiana drew in a deep breath. She was like a fish out of water, trying to decide what to say to him. Not that she had exactly been in her comfort zone earlier, but now she was way out of it. Finally, she reached out, hesitating briefly before placing her hand on his shoulder. "Padawan, you didn't need to worry about bothering them. As a Padawan, it's your right to ask questions, and it's every other Jedi's job to answer them. If they can't do that much, they should still be Padawans, themselves." Briiana paused for a moment, her temper heated a bit too much for her liking. It was frustrating enough figuring out how to guide this Padawan, but it annoyed her far more that someone had apparently given him the idea that he should be "seen and not heard." She sent the last part of that thought through the Force to the Jedi present in the room, as her anger was directed towards people like them.

After a moment's silence, her face slightly averted to keep him from seeing her eyes flash as they always did when she was angry, she looked back at him. "As for the fear, it gets to all of us." She gave him a small half-smile in an attempt to ease his mind, especially if he had sensed her anger. She'd tried to keep it from him, but it could have bounced back from the other Jedi to him. It had happened before. They would hear what she "said", and they would let it slip through in the moment, sometimes unintentionally sending it to someone else.

In light of that possibility, she kept talking, hoping to keep him from finding his fear directed toward her. "What is your full name, Padawan? I don't believe you told me." She could have found out for herself, but this was more productive, and besides, she couldn't really think of anything else to say. She wanted to get him talking, so she would have something to respond to, at least until she found out what the reactions of the other Jedi were.

"...they should still be Padawans, themselves."
The hand on his shoulder had a strangely calming affect on the young padawan as he listened Knight Shapur's words. It made a great deal of sense too, no matter how it might be seen as disrespectful to his elders here. Still something about her words made his smile grow from the slight little thing it had been before. A part of him had almost given into the desire to laugh, he could easily imagine the old council on Tython's reaction were such words to be directed at them. He clapped a hand over his mouth to stifle any giggles before they started.

"As for the fear, it gets to all of us."

Normally his senses, unbound as they are for the moment, would have felt a great deal of anyone's emotions even outside near the temples, the training grounds, some of the forest even, and sometimes further away then that. Which is the reason they were typically bound to a much shorter radius so as to not only avoid invading the edges of a so many fellow jedi minds where the emotions often were, but also to avoid overloading Calen's still fledgling control, something he had always struggled with. And while he still felt the anger bouncing around the room, he for the most part payed it no mind, it didn't seem to be particularly directed at him, and he'd much rather pay attention to what Knight Shapur was saying.

"What is your full name, Padawan? I don't believe you told me."

His widened as he realized that he hadn't told her his name, were he alone he might of tried what he'd heard the older padawans and younger knights call a facepalm, as it seemed appropriate in the context. At least he thought it did, he could never be sure with some of the stuff they had said before. Around this point he had realized his mind was wandering and shook his head to clear it. "Calen, of Alderaan, or so I'm told. What's yours?" The question was out before he could even contemplate it really, it was practically muscle memory for his tongue from talking to other young padawans for the first time. He would have thought to take the question back, but Knight Shapur didn't seem to like it when he was hesitant like that, so he didn't say anything further.

    IC: Master Sule

    Tython Temple, Annex Aurek

Sule listened intently to what his revelation did. He wasn't surprised in the slightest as to how these 'Jedi' reacted. It seemed his guess at their age was at least partially correct.

“Master Sule, are your ship’s databanks intact? I’m sure we will need to familiarize ourselves with what has happened over the last nine centuries.” one of them asked.

"I'll also need to access the archives here to see what data we might have lost. Since this place has been abandoned for a long time, I would be very surprised if the databank is completely intact." the first Jedi to talk added.

"Knight Sol, I am a mechanic no matter the age by the will of the Force. Perhaps I can aid with these archives or, whatever." a large Jedi said, walking up to the smaller human.

Sule was quickly being overwhelmed by all the differing conversations. He hadn't done well with keeping up back at the Temple on Coruscant, and he wasn't doing well here. A side effect of his races difficulty with both learning, and speaking, Basic. But he was distracted, as the sound of another carbonite casket thawing drew his attention. Looking in one of the darker corners, Sule saw a faint red glow as the carbonite thawed.

Sule was about to head for the block and tell the others to check the remaining blocks, but the first Jedi beat him to it. From what Sule could see, a female Jedi was the one thawed out, and she seemed to be a healer. He could tell from her impression in the Force, and the way she held her hands to the other Jedi's forehead. After removing her hands, the Jedi looked around like he could just now see. Which with everything Sule knew about Carbon Freezing...it was possible that he hadn't been able to see until now.

But Sule's attention was diverted again as his Padawan finally arrived, with an odd droid and a trio of Jedi in tow. Sending Melina the Selkath equivalent to a smile, he turned back to the main group. The healer had joined up, and made the suggestion that they get to know each other. That made sense, since after all, none of them knew him or his Padawan. But the matter of food was more pressing...

"Melina, head back to the freighter and see what supplies you can salvage. Our friends need food and water after how long they have been frozen," Sule said.

    Melina nodded, "Got it Master."

Melina bowed slightly at the group she had brought in, before setting out for the freighter, orange lightsaber once again lit and lighting her path. After watching her go, Sule turned back to the group.

"Well, I believe we should follow that suggestion and get to know each other. I can tell my story when Melina returns with what food we can save," Sule said, "So for those who have just arrived, I am Jedi Master Sule."

    Somewhere in the tertiary Temple

Unlike in the main Temple, the smallest one of the group was far from silent. Alarms were blaring out of ancient speakers, making a crackling noise in addition to the normal noise. As the alarms sounded, a pair of protocol droids 'ran' into a large chamber. At the center of the chamber was an equally large platform, that was oddly empty, aside from what looked like a pair of claws for a carbonite block. As the droids noticed that, they started to 'shout'.

"Containment failure!! Containment failure!! Prisoner has esca..."

Before they could say anymore however, a green light shot through both the droids, leaving them in four pieces on the ground. The light spun through the air, before landing in the hand of a tall man. As the light shined in his face, it showed a face contorted in anger and glaring at the remains of the droids.

"Finally free...the Jedi will pay...they will pay..."

Lyra stood quietly, listening to all the different conversations around her. It was a bit overwhelming, trying to keep up with some of them. But considering that some had just found out they had been asleep for over 900 years, and others glad to see faces that were familiar, she could not say that the result was unexpected. But it also was
not helpful. She for one, wanted to hear what had happened. So she was quite glad when the strange looking Jedi spoke next. He turned to a younger one standing next to him, most likely his own Padawan and spoke. "Melina, head back to the freighter and see what supplies you can salvage. Our friends need food and water after how long they have been frozen," Sule said. Lyra smiled when her thought was confirmed, when the younger one responded. calling him Master. Then the man turned back to the group.

"Well, I believe we should follow that suggestion and get to know each other. I can tell my story when Melina returns with what food we can save," Sule said, "So for those who have just arrived, I am Jedi Master Sule."

Lyra stepped forward then, offering the Jedi Master a nod in greeting. "I am glad to meet you, Master Sule. And thank you for offering your food to us. Though I would hope that there were some previsions made, and hidden somewhere in what is left here." Lyra told the man. As she spoke she studdied him in the Force, gently using her Empathy skills to get a general reading of the man before. Nothing which would be considered rude, but to just get a general reading of emotions coming from him. As a Jedi of the Living Force, she felt those told much more, than what simple words could sometimes convey. "I am Te'lorn. And if you are responsible for reviving us, then I am grateful indeed." She offered the man another smile. She then chuckled softly as she looked around at the group. "900 years leaves us quite a bit of catching up to do."

    Carbon Freeze Annex Aurek

There was much activity going on upon Sentry's arrival to Carbaon Freeze Annex Aurek. From its scans all the Jedi here appeared to be operating within normal parameters and none exhibited sympotoms that were outside of baseline for beings awoken from extended carbonite stasis. The news and goings on amongst the Jedi were of no interest to Sentry, its programming didn't cover their interactions or history, only its directives covered Sentry's potential actions.

The awakening of another Jedi from those originally scanned upon arrival did generate some interest from Sentry and the others. Upon the command of Palerma, Mala Rank: Jedi Knight Sentry set about with a noisy clanking farther into the interior of the Carbon Freeze Annex Aurek. It set aside the required number of cycles to calcaulate how many blocks could be stored within ther annex and suddenly stopped and cocked it's head to one side.

Why wasn't that information already a part of Sentry's memory? Had it been lost to time or was it a purposeful omission of those that had placed it here? It was also unknown if what Te'lorn, Lyra Rank: Jedi Knight's belief was true that Sentry could monitor the progress of other carbon freeze units. It certainly had no internal count of them so it could never be sure it was monitoring them all.

It began to speak to the Jedi to inform them of this oversight when a new directive, Sentry's primary one, took over.

    \\DETAIN

Without thinking or even being aware of it, the blasters in Sentry's arms swung forward again and the scanning of it's optical sensor went to its highest level. It was then that it received further instructions, an alarm elsewhere had been triggered. Sentry attempted to access memory of just what needed to be detained, but failed. More memory sector gaps. It rushed past the Jedi and out into the corridor.

    "Containment failure. Detain."

"What a waste of time," Noro muttered under his breath. Instead of addressing the Master, Noro quickly and silently slipped from the room. As he left he didn't turn back, and tried to hide his absence in the Force. He made his way at a brisk pace, towards the stairs to the North. Once there, he stepped on the first stair and the ancient marble collapsed beneath him. He fell forward and slammed his knee into the ground.

A sharp, shooting pain shock up his right leg from his knee to his upper thigh. Stang! Clutching, his knee he stood up and carefully investigated the stairs. The rest seemed to be in somewhat better shape. Very slowly, he began the climb while holding onto the banister steadily. None of the other stairs collapsed beneath him and he was grateful for that. After a few moments he reached the next floor and departed the stairwell.

He crossed the enormous hall until he came to an ancient buff of some long-forgotten Jedi. His hidden vault. He reached to the underside of the buff and pressed the secret lever he had installed before his....encasement. The head swung back revealing a small safe with a fingerprint pad and voice receiver. PLEASE PLACE THUMB ON PAD AND ENTER VOCAL PASSWORD," a crisp voice said. Noro cleared his throat while placing his thumb on the pad. "Darkmeld."

At the sounds of his voice the safe clicked and opened to reveal its contents. Inside lay a holocron, credits, basic repair kit, SATCOM comlink, and a datapad with datacards. A slow smile spread across Noro's face as he collected his items and began to head back downstairs.

Briiana felt a moment of relief as she realized that the only thing the Padawan was feeling that she hadn't intended was amusement. After her last question, though, he seemed unnecessarily concerned, but she let him finish his train of thought, whatever it was, until he finally answered, "Calen, of Alderaan, or so I'm told. What's yours?"

Briiana distinctly felt his momentary desire to take back his question, but immediately afterwards felt a flash of pride as he resisted. He learned quickly, indeed. "Briiana. I hail from Dantooine." //Well done, Padawan,// she added mentally, referring to his effort to not regret his question.

"So, Calen, how long were you a Padawan before you were frozen? I don't want to be too hard on you." Though I probably already have been, she added to herself, keeping the thought from him. As she waited for his answer, she rose to her feet, offering him her hand. It would be better for him, she knew, not to meet the others as the young, hesitant Padawan of a Master long dead. If the others thought she was his Master, so be it. If they thought she had a weakness, they would still be wrong.

Highly aware of the mental states of the other Jedi, she noted when one slipped from the room, intent on doing as he desired, not as the others thought best. While she normally found such action highly amusing, and possibly even respected it, under the current circumstances it caused her to grow angry, something she did not hesitate to broadcast through the Force to the Bothan Jedi.

Briiana's attention was suddenly caught by Sentry, who had gone into full alert mode, announcing, "Containment failure. Detain," as he hurried out of the room. Containment failure? Who was contained? She assumed whoever it was had been in carbonite, and clearly they had been intended to never awaken, since she had been "contained" as well, and the droid had accepted her as part of the chain of command. Who was it, then? She glanced at the others, scanning their reactions in the Force before turning back to look at the Padawan. Normally, she would have followed the droid without a thought to the others, but first she wanted to make sure that Calen could handle himself, if anything happened.

    "Briiana. I hail from Dantooine."

Was followed a moment later by a thought through their still active mental conversation. 'Well done, Padawan'

Calen smiled and his silver eyes brightened at the approval directed at his lack of hesitation a moment ago. He found he liked the feeling just as much as he did when his master had given it to him, which only made him determined to earn it from Knight Shapur, Briiana, again.

"So, Calen, how long were you a Padawan before you were frozen? I don't want to be too hard on you." She rose to her feet as she said this, offering her hand to where he sat on the floor. He took it in his smaller one without question and climbed to his feet, almost stumbling for a moment due to his leg's lack of much use since being thawed out of carbon sleep, but managing just fine with Knight Shapur's assistance. Once he was standing the lingering effects from the carbonite on his legs seemed to wear off quickly, likely due in part to his blood starting to circulate better down there.

"I was discovered when I was still an baby, and grew up in the temple nursery like many of the others did." Here he paused a bit, remembering some of his earlier memories. "My master took me on when I was five. I've been with-" A sadness slips onto his face before it clears and he tries to hold back the emotion, and no doubt the tears that come with it, for now. "Was with him for seven years." His expression clears of any last traces of the sadness underneath, save for his eyes, in which the emotion is clear as day. He glances down, to where his lightsaber hung from his belt. "My lightsaber was a gift from him, he said it belonged to his master before he died." He remembers the day he got it, when he had progressed past the training blades but wasn't near ready enough to make his own yet. The boy looked back up to Knight Shapur, his mouth opening to say something but was interrupted by the droid in the room.

    "Containment failure. Detain."

It quickly hurried off, leaving the room behind. Calen's next comment forgotten, he instead asked, "What's going on?"

Lyra spoke to Master Sule, but sadly noted some of the emotions she felt from the others. Seems as if there would always be those who's path was always flung into the future, and not paying attention to the now. Their mistakes would be upon them soon enough, when their bodies would DEMAND the food it had been denied for so long. Almost as if to agree with her, Lyra felt a sharp spike of pain within the Force, as impatience was feed. She turned her head..

    \\DETAIN

Another sharp spike in the Force, but this time, it was one of warning, as the sounds of mechanical servos reached her ears. She turned, just in time to see that The Sentry was in motion, his arms now showing blasters as it began to move quickly, brushing past the group, and quickly exiting the room. It's only comment, as it moved was its last statement.

    "Containment failure. Detain."

So soon?! They had barely a chance to catch their collective breaths, and already things were happening. One of the young Jedi commented, "What's going on?"

Lyra quickly spoke to Master Sule. "I suggestion you warn your Padawan, Master Sule. If something indeed has been released that caused Sentry to rush out of here, then I assume it is something dangerous indeed." Lyra then moved out into the hallway herself, to see if she could tell which direction Sentry had moved to. Why in the FORCE would the Council bury something that should NOT be awoken in the same general area as them? That was beyond insane. And it obviously, was not suffering from the same issues that their group was. Still...

'Keep your head in the present..' she thought to herself, as she looked out along the corridors. She did NOT extend her Force presence too far, not wanting to give their position away. She also knew that not all of them were ready to jump into a dangerous situation, as their bodies were still fighting off the freezing process. Lyra gently brushed the plant around her wrist, it having grown a bit bigger now. Time to see what situation they had woken up to.
