This is why I've been avoiding FOX even more than usual, because most of their anchors are beating the drum of "LOOKIE THE PRESIDENT IS SPENDING SO MUCH WHILE 'ORDINARY AMERICANS (translation: old, privilaged white men), ARE SUFFERING FROM THIS SEQUESTOR.!!!"

    *headesk x a million*

Guess I shouldn't be surprised, FOX is also blaming this mortar accident that killed 8 marines on the Sequestor too.

Hadn't seen the Reid thing, but FOX news ran with it and ran with it hard.

Why were you watching Fox in the first place?

Primarily Shepard Smith. Most of the time, it's channel surfing on a rare occasion sometimes they do a decent job on breaking news that doesn't have to do with politics.

Ted Cruz and Agenda 21, I heard all about that from Beck.

Of former Vice President Dick Cheney, Grayson once said: "I have trouble listening to what he says sometimes because of the blood that drips from his teeth while he's talking." [face_laugh]

Desjarlais, I think he was posted about here on the JCC. He's essentially a Gingrich; do what i say not what I do because God.

    So...

Speaker John Boehner said he was for universal background checks... then his office "clarified" that he wasn't really saying that.

Senator Rand Paul described himself as pro-choice in all but name... then his office "clarified" he was pro-life.

Governor John Kasich said he supported Civil Unions... then his office "clarified" that he rejects civil unions.

What are we supposed to take away from all of this?

That Boehner, Paul, and Kasich are just three of a grand ol' party of insufferable nincompoops.

They will remain this way until social policy ceases to be part of any right wing platform.

This is what I take out of it:

The media take quotes out-of-context, and then when the office clarifies (without quotations) that the quote was taken out-of-context, the media like to present this to us as some sort of inconsistency on the politician's part.

I mean, I'm only guessing, since you didn't provide the source...

They do it all the time.

I just hope they keep doing it all the way to the mid term elections.

    Colorado passes Civil Unions

THIS was published in a West Virginia newspaper:
Surprisingly, some people find it offensive.

And more art from George W. Bush has been released:

    Good on Colorado.

I'd comment on the West Virginia part, but all I'm seeing is red right now.

As for GWB's art... say what you will about the man, the art's not half - bad.

In the best of all possible worlds, GWB's art would slowly become more avant garde and he would become the Andy Warhol of the current generation.

Lisa Murkowski (Republican Senator, Alaska) says she is "evolving" on Gay Marriage.

Marco Rubio is also threatening to filibuster any gun legislation (which seems to include Universal Background Checks), along with Ted Cruz and Rand Paul.

At least they admit that evolution exists. That's a step in the right direction too!

When evolving is defined as : changing position to attract votes
