Air New Zealand and VB from tassie to mainland. I'm not a huge fan of jetstar. I'm going to book my ticket in a couple of hours

 

Is that Melbourne to LAX? That flights certainly sounds a bit better than the one I had quoted, at least in terms of $$$$.

Problem is that fan club members get in a day early to C4 and I want to be there tyhe day before that at least.

that price I have was leaving launceston on virgin blue landing in melbourne and then flying to LA. same thing to get back just in reverse. Leaving on the 22nd and getting there on the 22nd. there were no more seats at that price on the 23rd according to the lady at flight centre so I'm goin over the day early. Most likely I'll spend the day on the 23rd getting my pass and helping the r2 builders set up their room if they have one again. The day on the 24th is apparently for fan club members. Keep in mind there are a lot of us

 

Maybe I'll go on that flight rather than my 2K one as it certainly sounds a lot better.

You know you can block book accomodation throught the travel agent rather than the website?

 

most travel agents can book hotels and things for you over there. I found a close hotel and booked directly. Depends on what kind of prices you can find on your own vs. what a travel agent can find for you.

 

Nick, I work with conferences and the best chance for a deal is to get in with the room block and IIRC they hasn't been relased yet. Room blocks are normally all together in the same part of the hotel and have cheaper rates than your normal ones.

Where are you staying BTW? The Westin again? That place looks nice.

 

I'm staying at the Figueroa Hotel. It's the next closest after the holiday inn which, apparently, has been all booked out by the lucas people. I wanted somewhere close so I bit the bullet as it were and booked. The rate was good and as long as the room locks and there's a shower I'll be happy. I'm not planning on getting much in the way of sleep

rates for the room are 134 per room per night. One room two twin beds about a block form the convention centre.

Just waiting for the con passes to go on sale and I'll be all set.

 

According to the guide you gave me from CIII they were $110 US which isn't THAT bad.

I used swag last time and I'll use it again. And Woppo I found out from Obiglenn last night that he's been given the greenlight to go to C4. Gonna have to give him a call and see when he's planning to head over.

On a side note anyone considering Celebration Europe? I hear that's gonna be a heck of a party as well
