Great lighting tests of the Bounty Hunters! It's working really well with them all together.

Will you also be doing IG-88?

I could, but he won't fit into the composition. Though, I could play around with it and see what I can come up with. I have three IG-88 figures, a flashlight, and an upcoming week that may be full of power outages.

If he doesn't fit, could always say that he had already uploaded himself to the Death Star II main computer while the others were scrapped by Boba and the other Hunters.

Hopefully this week will fly without too much hassles so that everything can go back to normal.

Got a few sketches. I'm still struggling with likenesses, but methinks I'm making at least some headway. I'm finding it a bit easier to nail a likeness if at least one of my references is a drawing. Then, I just reference off of that artist's methods for getting a likeness down, and reference to a photo for the rest of the details and to make sure everything lines up.

That said, I'll start off with the one who's been giving me the most trouble... Han Solo.

I referenced from a tiny Indiana Jones pic and three Han photos. Not too happy with this one, though I do like the linework. But, that's the only thing I like about it.

Referenced from an Adam Hughes rendition and two Han photos and one Indy photo. A bit happier with how this one turned out, but I'm still not satisfied. Though, his trollface expression never ceases to amuse me.

And Luke. Usually, I don't have too many issues with getting his likeness down to where I'm satisfied with it. There are some issues with this sketch that I would need to tackle with any subsequent images, but his likeness hasn't been as frustrating to capture as Han's has. At least with Luke, I can use all my tricks and there are facial traits that stand out that I make sure I always use.

Luke looks fabulous! I just want to run my hands through all that silky hair! Yum!

Luke's hair is pretty fun to draw.

    Anywho, a boredom sketch.

Nothing says the holidays like Victorian-era clothing, and I always love for a chance to put Gands in costumes.

Very awesome sketches. I love the Luke he turned out really well. Han could use a bit more work. since it sounds like your just practicing try using a grid to help getting the proportions out. it helps me when I really want to get the likeness just right.

I love the fun sketch! I like the folds in the clothing.

Wow, the Gand actually pulls off that look quite well. Are they going to a formal ball?

Oh, finally got around to finishing an image that has been sitting on my to-do list for ages.

And after a surface blur and redoing the gradient...

Thanks. My grandpa got the original black-and-white inked image (as the scan was colored digitally), and he enjoyed it. I've been making it a point to send him hand-drawn cards during the holidays, as he's one of my few remaining grandparents, and I'll be frank... I like Christmas money. I can be bought. :p

Anywho, today, after writing up my Dear Diary Challenge entry, I decided to draw a cover image for it. This time, I went for weird.

    I like weird.

Got a whole bunch of stuff. I've been practicing sketch cards.

Quite possibly my best Han yet.

Kyp, which will be cross-posted into the EU challenge shortly.

    [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

Young Jaina, Jacen, and Anakin Solo, as modeled by my niece and nephews.

Falynn Sandskimmer, as modeled by myself, because I'm a low-down dirty artist insert.

    Preparatory sketches for Hohass Ekwesh.

Got some more done. I'm trying to get into the habit of drawing at least a sketch card a day. Two or three, preferably. Four a day, if I'm feeling really ambitious.

First up, Hohass Ekwesh. I tweaked his look and musculature a bit.

Not my best Lando, so I plan to redraw him.

Leia didn't turn out too bad, but I plan to draw another at a different angle.

Not my best Luke, so I plan to redraw him, too.

Man, I really dropped the ball on a few of them this time around. Usually, I can nail Luke's likeness pretty well, and Lando usually doesn't give me too many difficulties. I nail Han for the first time, and then screw up the ones I usually can draw. :/
