I've seen the first part of Gremlin's, but not all of it.

    I bought Ghost Busters...

I own Goonies...HAH....I have a copy of Pretty in Pink as well...I had a thing for the way the character "Duckie" dressed...

    But, what's Top Gun?

I've seen 16 candles as well.

(I had a Molly Ringwald (sp??) phase in college...)

    Time Bandits
    Short Circuit
    Chariots of Fire
    ET
    Amadeus
    Breakfast Club
    Back to the Future
    Stand by Me
    Big
    Dead Poets Society
    Edward Scissorhands

Of course Ed Scissorhands made me think of JD and Pirates, which made me think maybe we need to have a Pirate night or an X-Men night, or something else more recent that fits our geeky fancy.

I was thinking of doing HP 3 and 4 for Harry's Birthday at the end of July.

I was planning on doing Gremlins and Ghostbusters for Halloween.

Only the reason Tom Cruise gained superstar status in the first place. F-14s, Migs, the bird, Miramar, "That lovin feelin'...", crashed and burned, Val Kilmer, "I want some butts!"

The fortune teller arcade machine thing that he wished he could be big and it made him big.

I can't stand those things. They give me the creeps.

Ooooooooooh. Never bothered me. It was the rest of the movie that mattered to me, not how he got Big...

What about Iron Eagle? I liked it better than Top Gun.
Just another suggestion to add to the list.

Time Bandits was hilarious! (Sean Connery is in it hehehehe [face_love] )
Perhaps that can maybe be an option? Since it was on the list and she hasn't seen it yet?

(of course, if I had it, I would have seen it...)

What's it about? Is it the Sean Connery one?

I'm not an expert on bombs and what kind of explosion they should have, maybe the effects of the "Hades" bomb were inaccurate.... I just thought it was cool that a group of kids could get that kind of information(even if it's not really possible) and plan that kind of attack to help out one of their own, that's true teamwork and friendship. Movies are supposed to be entertaining, not necessarily totally factual.

danny has a golf tournament that weekend. but he doesnt get it like the rest of us sometimes. but we dont always do everything together. i will have to discuss it with the family unit. btw, the boys love time bandits. but red dawn is a much better film about kids doing adult things.

Okay people. I apologize! **kneels and kisses floor**

This weekend is too much for me after two trips to Memphis and next weekend has become a problem, so I am working on a new date. Updates will be forthcoming.

Keep talking about what movies you want to see...

Hey sorry, I'm out for sure. I have committments this Saturday. Have fun, y'all.

Only the reason Tom Cruise gained superstar status in the first place. F-14s, Migs, the bird, Miramar, "That lovin feelin'...", crashed and burned, Val Kilmer, "I want some butts!"...

Yeah, I had such a crush and a half on Tom Cruise back then. I'd pop in Top Gun everytime Mom went to the store or something just for another hit of eye-candy. But unlike Christopher Reeve, who still has a place in my heart, Tom Cruise is soooooooooo 20 yesrs ago!!!

Okay, since I haven't gotten any real input, I will make an executive decision. In honor of upcoming releases, this Saturday we will be watching Superman 1 and/or 2 and/or Pirates of the Caribbean. If you didn't understand that--it means Pirates and a Superman movie or 2 Superman movies...

No Dinner--come fed and watered--please bring finger foods and drinks to share--don't forget your lawn chairs and bug spray--you never know what the weather will do, so you may want a blanket/sweater/jacket.

Movies begin at Dark. Thank you. I look forward to seeing you there.

Please let me know if you need directions or have any other questions/suggestions.

FYI, I am planning on showing Harry Potter 3 and 4 sometime in July or early August to celebrate Harry's Birthday and will be considering dates for other movie nights in August/September that may include some sort of 80's revival. Brat Pack movies are under consideration, as are Top Gun and others... A date in October will be set for a double feature of Ghostbusters and Gremlins.

As always I am open to requests and suggestions for movies and whatnot. Please speak up.
