The 'whats up?' thread works well in Edmonton to just chat, and I thought it would be a good first thread here. This is a place to talk about whats going on in our lives and talk about current events.

    As for me...

I just got back from a camping trip this weekend and had a blast, from what I remember of it :p But now that its over im hurtin. I smashed into a wood pile a few time, smashed my head into a counter top and bruised up my arm somehow.

    Anyone else do anything cool?

Last night I went to karaoke with Derisa and celebrated that I've gone an entire year without cigarettes after smoking for 19 years.

The highlight of the evening for us was the pair of us belting out "Creole Lady Marmalade". We took turns covering Pink, Maya, Lil' Kim, and Christina's parts, and got a rousing applause from the audience.

This thread was a good idea, fing! Thanks for starting it here!

I love karaoke. The only problem that happens every time I go is that im the only one singing from the group, and thats no fun. You got to have at least a couple other people singing, then you don't look so bad :p

Once I have some liquid courage in me (pepsi, what else did I mean? :p ) then I might be willing to try it.

    I'll do a lot on a dare when I'm drinking... pepsi ;)

Can we bring a karaoke machine on the camping trip? :D

Okay, maybe not...but do you like singing around a campfire? Not "Kumbaya" or that kind of thing, but filks, traditional, singalongs, that sort of stuff?

The karaoke was fun, more fun than I thought it would be, even though the machine skipped in the middle of my "debut" performance. But we did get lots of cheers for Marmalade, considering we were quite pished.

(For those of you who don't know, Rani's got a hell of a voice. She's a torch singer (and I don't mean the kind that belts out arias while lighting things on fire). OMG: that would be a fun thing to do if we could all get together at some point: karaoke night! :D (okay, well, not while camping...)

...we'd scare all those poor, poor bears!

I could always do my "Jessica Rabbit" impression for them, Derisa! Can someone bring a grand piano to Jasper with them? :D

... gee, I'm not sure. We did kind of invite ourselves along. :)

But we have a tonne of experience camping and are accomplished camp cooks... plus we have all our own tents and bedding, and we're paying our own way. Seriously, I think, if we can make it, we are going to have a lot of fun together. :)

King Arthur was good, but not as good as Troy.

Not to many good movies coming out now, i guess the next one i'll go and see is Cat Women :)

The only movie I really need to see for this year is Resident Evil 2.

Other than that though I'll probably see others. So long as I have the cash and people to see it with.

Saw Farenheit 9/11 on the weekend, it was good, very enlightening. Unfortunately we were third row from the front, a little too close.

Actually I had a pretty busy day yesterday. After cycling around Stanley Park with Mike (aka SquallLeonhart); checking out the view during the day, I went to the Evanescence concert in the evening. I can't say I was a big fan of theirs before I went (at least not as big as the friends I went with), but I must say it was one of the better concerts I've been to - very enjoyable.

    Evanescence is *awesome*... :D

Wished I could have seen them in concert. :(

Glad you guys are getting out and about. Mike's a very cool dude. :)

I've been watching anime all day with Sionnach .... Hotohori. :)
