CT Why can't you see the front of the Falcon from the cockpit?!

This has always confused me lol

Surely the front part of the ship would fill a large portion of the left side of the cockpit!

Do we ever see the camera looking out of the window in that direction though, with the prow mandibles "missing"?

The camera would have had to be placed at a pretty extreme angle to catch the tip of the mandibles.

The mandibles are located significantly below the horizon line of the cockpit. You would actually have a pretty clear view of the load modual you were grabbing from the cockpit itself.

It was probably too complicated to show it there in every scene that looks out the Falcon's cockpit.

Tell me: What does the view from the Falcon's cockpit have to do with the plot?

    - Will you be alright?
    - Suddenly, I'm afraid.

The more important question is why is Chewie's feet hanging out of the bottom of the falcon ;) [IMG]

Because it is a film and they didn't do everything perfect, so when they had these shots they either missed it or for whatever reason skipped it. It is for the same reason why in space we hear noise when ships fly by when in reality that wouldn't be so.

Ahhh. Every time I see a pic of the Falcon I remember what an awesome design it is. Probably the best sci-fi ship design ever!

I actually wondered this a couple of times too. Thanks for posting that drawing up there!

Good call. My personal fave is the Sith Infiltrator, but the Falcon wins in design. Outrider is pretty similar too.

The Falcon always brings back fond memories of my childhood. That ship was and still is my all time favorite toy. Who knows how many adventures my star wars figures and a few G.I. Joes had in that old ship:)

It probably why we rarely see the Falcon turn left.

Yeah that drawing answers that question.

I love the Falcon as well and it is the best sci-fi ship ever made. The Ebon Hawk from "Knights of the Old Republic" is a close second.
