Discussion Why is Lando getting no love?

I Lando and hope very much he will be in thew new film. I think Billy Dee adds a touch of class and je ne sais quoi to the SW gang.

Having said that, I wouldn't call his role in the OT huge, by virtue of the fact that he wasn't in Ep 4. And since I am convinced the main protagonist(s) of the new trilogy will be the younger generation, they might not want the cast to be too crowded with older characters, especially if Luke has a wife. So even if Lando is in the film, he might not have a lot to do.

 

Would he still be the ruler of Cloud City?

 

Did he basically forfeit being the ruler of Cloud City when he helped Luke/Chewie/Leia escape from CC? I would think Vader would have put a bounty on his head....

Because Lando doesn't deserve love...just yet. If he were to recieve love from someone it should be his hand. No one would ever dig him that's why Leia rejected him.

I have full confidence that Lando will return. Like others have said, I think being the current supreme chancellor is a good role for him.

 

Lando is one of my favorite OT characters and I really hope he returns with a prominent role in the new films.

No one wants to see a new series with all the same cast back old as hell running around the galaxy. Luke perhaps because he'd be a Jedi but everyone else can have extremely small cameo roles as far as I'm concerned. Maybe in Lando's case just a mention of his name. They should have more people of color though. Like the Matrix.

 

Lando should have a daughter in the sequels. Alicia Keys should play her. That way we could have a musical number.

If Star Wars VII consists of Luke Han and Leia running around the galaxy in the Millennium Falcon blowing things up as in the OT I'll personally send you a check for 300 dollars. They're simply not going to be the focal point of the films. Ay most I see paternal/advice/guidance roles.

 

Lando adventure, not really, but Lando in a cameo or, even better, an important plot-imparting cameo quickie, would be a blast.

Pick the best actors to fill the roles written.

People should not be picked because of their race.

 

Lando's redemption story was a great part of the OT, if Billy Dee is up for it I'd love to see him at least get a cameo.

That's what I was thinking as well. I honestly don't care much for Lando.

 

Lando played a huge role in the movies an in the Novels...

Plus hes just this smooth ass pimp who wears a cape. Babes cant deny a strong intergalactic power player who wears a cape. The guys all swag.

 

I'm not saying I want them to be the only characters. But, at least in Episode VII, I'd like Luke, Han, Leia, and Chewbacca to have large roles while the new characters are introduced. In Episodes VIII and IX, I'd like Luke to have a Yoda size role from the PT.

 

How bout save a bit of Lando action till episode 8? There are 2 more movies to come here!
