Why is it that in AOTC Yoda was not able to sieze Dooku's ship and hold it so as to prevent his escape. The ship was still sitting there when Obi adn Annie were safe. And you cant tell me that Yoda was tired after stopping that pilliar, he is known to lift those really big, brown transport ships at teh beginning of TPM (u know the ones that look kind of H-shaped) if he can lift that he can certantly hold onto a small fanblade starfighter. What is up with him?

Because the Clone Wars show are only cartoons and for kids and not really canon.

Well, pillars generally dont have high powered engines attached. :p Yeah, maybe he should have thrown that pillar onto the ship, but it looked like it was all he was able to handle.

Yeah the Clone Wars cartoon was extremely exaggerated to provide little kids (and some big kids :D) with some action.

My question in that part is, why didn't Dooku strike down Yoda when he was lifting the pillar?

He just had a fight with the dark lord. His energy was drained and that pilar was no small object. Yeah he got tired. He's 900 years old, what do you expect!!

Because in all parts the duels at the end of AotC are terribly edited. They are hacked up and pieced together, at one point in the Anakin vs Dooku part they teleport accross the hanger and back because there is so much cut out. Bad editing is the only thing that explains why when Yoda was concentrating on holding the pillar up with all his attention and energy focused on it that Dooku climbs the ramp of his ship, pauses and looks at Yoda but does not strike.

Dooku still has some sympathy for the Jedi I think, that's why he didn't strike.

Maybe for Yoda, not for Jedi in general

If he had sympathy for the jedi, then why was he just about to finish off Obi-Wan?

Dooku should've killed Yoda while he was holding up the pillar, therefore killing 3 jedi in one blow. It would've saved his life too. But for some reason he didn't...

    I dunno...Dooku isn't THAT bad of a guy.

Yoda was tired after the fight.

Dooku has a soft spot for Kenobi more than Yoda...Dooku trained Qui Gon remember?

A simple Force choke by Dooku at that point may have done it.

Both aspects can be answered by saying that Dooku used the force to try to push the pillar DOWN as he fled for the transport. That would explain why he couldn't be force choking Yoda and why Yoda seemed to have a hard time with it. Perhaps had he not been trying to push the pillar downward, yoda would have just flung it to block his escape.

Dooku's goal wasn't to kill Yoda. Much less fight any Jedi. His goal was to get the hell out of dodge, but two Jedi upstarts had to block his path. So he spanked them. Then Yoda interfered and they had to have it out. Since back-up was coming, Dooku decided to drop the pillar and then run for it. His top priority was to get the Death Star plans to Coruscant. But the Jedi distracted him. So he repaid them in kind.

You know come to think of it, why didn't Anakin and Obi-Wan just attack the Solar Sailer the second they arrived in the hangar? I mean Anakin was just a couple steps away from it before deciding to charge into the wall of Force lightning. With a couple waves of his lightsaber he could've messed up the hull pretty bad and rendered it unflyable. Then all they'd have to do is wait for Yoda or Mace to show up to deal with Mr. Tyranus.

Anakin: Oh, is this your escape ship? Looks really cool. *pulls out lightsaber* HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!
    Dooku: NOOOOOOOO!

I don't think they knew what the expect when they reached the hanger. Obi-Wan was probably trying to think of some type of plan when Anakin went off charging Dooku. With Anakin incapacitated, Obi-Wan didn't have a chance for any intricate plots as he knew Dooku would be focusing all of his Sithly attention on him. A chance lost by Anakin's recklessness.

To me, it looked clear that Yoda was more powerful than Count Dooku and Yoda knew it. Dooku on the other hand thought he was better than any Jedi, but after Yoda deflected the lightning and then absorbed it, Dooku had a rethink. So then he figured he as a sith lord would overpower Yoda with a Lightsaber, but once again Yoda was a match for him.
So he brought the Pillar down, knowing that this would divert Yoda's attention and allow him to escape. as stated earlier, Dooku didnt want to fight anybody at that time. He was carrying vital plans and needed to get out of dodge.

If dooku had of stayed, Yoda would have likely beat him. Its known that yoda was a match for sidious, while dooku was about 20% less powerful.
