I've always been addicted to movie soundtracks--I'm curious to know what are your favorites? My current playlist consists of the soundtrack from The Hours, Philip Glass, and the soundtrack from Hannibal, Hans Zimmer.

Outside of the "SW" series, my favorite soundtracks goes as follows:
(By the way, this is just for the movies. If I were to go into my favorite Game or Anime soundtracks, this list could grow rather large.)

"Matrix"-Both score and original soundtrack.
"Matrix Reloaded"
"Zombie"
"Dawn of the Dead"
"Fellowship of the Ring"
"The Two Towers"
"Bram Stoker's Dracula"
"Dune"
"Batman"

I like the soundtrack to 'Gladiator' a lot. My #1 soundtrack of all time is 'Red Planet', though.

Even though i have never seen the movie i really like the score from 1492, by Vangelis.

Every selection is just great and i highly recommend it if you are able to find it.

All the SW soundtracks, of course. I have them all saved onto my computer where they will be forever safe.

Also, the Braveheart soundtrack is one of my favorites.

Also,
Back to the Future
Titanic
Terminator 2
Top Gun

Right now, I have a very difficult time taking the "Pirates of the Caribbean" soundtrack out of the CD player. I know it has been getting massacred by score reviewers. I concede that it is no where close to the awesome "Cutthroat Island" score in terms of musical quality and thematic function (for a pirate movie), but I still like the CD.

My favorite soundtracks are:

Blade Runner (Vangelis)
The (original) Italian Job (Quincy Jones)

The Blade Runner soundtrack really gives the visuals of the film an extra sense of "wonder" when looking at the sprawling LA cityscape, and the minimalist score really adds impact to the film as a whole.

The Italian Job soundtrack's gotta be there just for "The Self Preservation Society" tune alone, great song! :)

Too many to count...

Black Hawk Down
Almost Famous
Cowboy Bebop: The Movie
Neon Genesis Evangelion: The End of Evangelion
Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring
Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers

Those are just the ones I can think of at the moment.

Let's see..(and all of this is other than SW of course ;) )

I remember Backdraft and Glory as two of the soundtracks that really got me listening to soundtracks way back when.
I like most of the soundtracks already mentioned and John Williams is first among equals.
Are you talking strictly instrumental or also soundtracks consisting of songs? 'Song' soundtracks I've always liked include The Matrix, Strange Days, Dumb and Dumber, Tank Girl...I supoose one shouldn't forget Moulin Rouge.

I love soundtracks...that seems to be all I buy lately....
I love the Matrix soundtracks(both of em), "The Craft", "Runaway Bride", "My Best Friends Wedding"
and even though the movie stank, "Queen of the Damned" has a good soundtrack....does anyone have the "Underworld" soundtrack yet? I've been thinking about getting it...

"and even though the movie stank, "Queen of the Damned" has a good soundtrack"

I actually thought it would only be interesting if muted . . . Lots of pretty people to look at but nothing more to offer . . . Difference in taste, I guess.

no arguement on the pretty people part...stuart townsend is rather nice....but the story was pretty bad...especially to Anne Rice enthusiasts....

The Pianist is one of my favorites, but a lot of that is actual classical music.

Saving Private Ryan is also very good. I love it.

While I love a great many soundtracks, my favorites would probably be:

Superman: The Movie - John Williams
Raiders Of The Lost Ark - John Williams
The Land Before Time - James Horner
Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within - Elliot Goldenthal
Waterworld - James Newton Howard
Signs - James Newton Howard
Rudy - Jerry Goldsmith
Batman - Danny Elfman

Some might be a bit predictable but I think they are all brilliant scores.
